Not a terrible deal.. saves you about £20-£30 if you were buying all the parts ...

do the 6 core cpu need new mother boards, ram?

i am quad core 9850 black phenom and xp, also i have a good mobo which is flash upgradable etc, just wondering if i could just plonk cpu in an away i got 6 cores?

probably worth checking if a new bios is available for your motherboard - its unlikely that you'll need a new motherboard (unless it is VERY old) - as most decent board producers will update the BIOS to include new processors.

Pretty sure it'l work, as long as you have an AM3 mobo

It's ok.. But the RAM isn't the greatest - would be better if they offered it without an OS too. Still voted hot

I think it's a good offer if you don't own Windows 7 already. Heat added.

Make sure you're using an SSD on such a system!
Anything else would be a waste.

Voted hot although the OP could be a bit more informative (e.g. by either including make/model of motherboard or stating it supports Cross Fire).
