Not a great price tbh. 1600x is often the same now.

Agreed. Cold from me.
I have this CPU, been contemplating whether to get a 2600 or a 1700 mainly for Plex...and light gaming...

What’s your GPU and gaming resolution?
Also what type of gaming is your definition of “light”?
I wouldn’t expect Plex to benefit much from a CPU upgrade from the 1500x.

Have a Nvidia 1050ti and play at 1080p.i play AAA titles every now and again, mainly sports games tbh. My pc is a gaming/Plex server. I've installed the hacked Nvidia drivers so it opens up the amount of Hw transcodes that the gpu can handle from two that were locked.
Why?
You would be far better off spending money on a new graphics card. I’ve a GTX1070 with my 1500x which seems to be a good match for 1080p. Your 1050ti will be holding back your gaming far more than your CPU.

Sell your 1050ti and get a GTX 1070 second hand or a new GTX 1660ti if you can’t stretch further (and want to stick with Nvidia). I believe there are a lot of 2nd hand 1070s for sale at the moment.
