Free p&p makes this the better deal, OC's p&p costs are a joke. Glad I waited now, thanks OP

If you can fulfill these:forums.overclockers.co.uk/thr…56/
Future shipping cost at overclockers can be free as well.

Now also the same price at ebuyer if you prefer them. Actually cheaper by £0.01

ive got a gtx 1050 ti, which ryzen cpu would be best suited too it? would this be a bit overkill?

I'm considering the same purchase and it's kind of overkill (personally I'm doing virtualization and other non-gaming stuff so that's why). Even Ryzen 3 sees a massive performance increase when paired with a 1060.

That said, bearing in mind that CPUs tend to outlast GPUs by a number of years it might not be a bad purchase.

From what I have gathered, in most games the clock frequency is important for gaming and more cores do not add that much, given by the popularity of Pentium G4560.

From some benchmark videos (can't recall the links, check yourself) Ryzen 3 1300x/1200 should slightly bottleneck 1060 in some cpu intensive games(MMOs mostly). For 1050ti I think a cheaper like 1200/1300x you be more suitable.
Of course a better CPU will only help.

Worth upgrading from an 8320 paired with a 970 gpu? Not that the wife will let me 😁

Depends on what you are doing, but I think yes.

100% yes.

Not just the performance, but all the modern advancements AM4 brings like USB 3.1, USB-type-C ports, M.2 (U.2 in some mobos too), better LAN, DDR4 obviously etc etc.

Plus much lower power draw + efficiency.

Thanks both. Its mainly for gaming, my rig is in definite need of an overhaul. Think my 970 will carry me a few more years but I'm definitely coasting on old RAM and an oldish mid-range CPU.
