AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU with Wraith Cooler £136 @ Amazon

Seems to have dropped by £40-odd overnight, perhaps in response to Intel's core i5 8400. Ebuyer have it at the same price too. I notice the Ryzen 7 1700 is also going cheaper now, so maybe this will be a permanent price drop to compete with Intel's coffee lake? Either way, fantastic price and cheapest its ever been so grab it while you can!

Seems like a cracking price that. Still not tempted to switch from my 4790k though.

Fantastic price.
At this price you cannot get more for your money. Yes Intel will hold the edge on performance in gaming but as always, only if you pay more.
Especially as this will over clock out the box on a B350 or X370 motherboard. Using stock cooler 3.6-3.7Ghz is likely achievable.
6cores/12 threads for under £140, a budget builders dream.

I have a 4820K and I'm desperate for an upgrade. Are you just gaming on your pc?

This is a weird spike or response to matching eBuyer. If you're thinking of getting one order quickly.

Great price.

Jesus...... This is cheap!

Hoping the R7 1700 is going to drop.

F#*@k me! I've just ordered one from ebuyer. Cheers! Went through Quidco for a further 6% cashback. Thanks for posting.

For anyone wanting to start a ryzen build but thinking of waiting for Ryzen 2 in Feb, at this price it's worth buying now and upgrading later.

Don't forget the Asus Ryzen promotion running at the moment too. promotion.asus.com/en/…zen

2 Games of your choice, plus Everspace (never heard of it).

Cool, appreciate that

Are these likely to drop even further on Black Friday?

This is really tempting until I look at the cost of RAM. Will it ever stop increasing?

Ridiculously tempted to upgrade my old AMD A8 6600 back up PC - but I rarely use that. I don't have the money for such frivalous but excellent deals !

No unless this is only a temporary promotion. But with Ryzen+ coming early next year, it's likely that these prices could stick for the remainder of the year.

6%? I had to go and check since Topcashback only offer 1.5%, and no unless I'm missing something Quidco only offer 1%:

HOW IT WORKS Buy an eligible Motherboard and an eligible CPU from a participating dealer on the same invoice

Question: Say i was to buy this cpu and a b350 strix board sold by a different seller but brought from the amazon site along with the cpu. Would this count towards the promotion since both purchases are made on one invoice. Assuming the aforementioned seller is a participating dealer

I literally but this same one for the £178 price not so long a go

Given under retailers it's listed as Amazon EU Sarl, which is what will be displayed on the invoice from orders on from Amazon themselves, I feel its unlikely.

Anyone recommend a good asus motherboard to go with this? Really tempted to upgrade from my x5650 although ddr4 prices kinda killing the deal

I would recommend the strix b350f, though its on the premium side of the b350 boards

Asus prime X370 PRO plus this in order to get the games

Would this cpu and the strix b350f mobo bought together receive the Asus games deal?

Thanks that's the board I've kinda settled on after having a quick look. What's the main difference between b350 and x370? Is it just crossfire/sli support? Now to look at the insane ddr4 prices!

On the ebuyer strix b350 page under product details it has a banner of the free games offer so it should do as long as purchased on same invoice as cpu

Was looking at pairing the CPU with the Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 mobo:

amazon.co.uk/GIG…95G

Any thoughts on this compared to the Asus Strix B350F?
