AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Desktop CPU - AM4/Hex Core/GHz/16MB/65W £150 @ Amazon

Now cheaper than some 2nd hand vendors (CeX for instance)

Hope this will continue, need some type of silver lining whilst we're getting royally buggered with RAM and GPU prices!

Cracking price! Bought just before xmas at £189..... typical!
HOT for this price
Correct me if I am wrong, but it has been £148 on Amazon recently? Was looking to build Ryzen 5 1600 system, waiting on the RAM to be in stock somewhere though before I do
Ram will come down in price

Ram will come down in price

I don't think it will soon as the price of the silicon in them is going up 20 percent this year and 20 percent increase inspected next year so while massive demand will be catered for soon, prices will still remain high
Ryzen+ (Ryzen on 12nm) is coming out soon (April) . Might be worth waiting for further price drops when that comes out or getting Ryzen+ instead.
I am tempted. I was the lucky one when I managed to pick up 2x8gb DDR4 ram for £56 before the price increased. I just checked, I paid £56 in Oct 2016, but jeez, the price is at £175 on Amazon. I am glad I made the decision to buy it then as I was planning to upgrade but feel sorry for anyone who has to buy at this ridiculour price. I never thought I see the day when the this CPU is cheaper than the ram.

I only need the CPU, MOBO and GPU. I think I am going to wait for the price to come down further since Ryzen 2 is out in April. Though, not sure what to do for the GPU. While I am PC Gamer, but not a heavy user so I was thinking of going with the 1050ti or 1060 3gb since anything above that is at a crazy ridiculous price. I wish the prices stabilize soon as this is only going to push PC builders away. I know I am tempted, for the price of 3 components I am expected to pay, I can pick up a decent spec laptop.

Wait a month for GPU as NVidia releasing their new gpus soon which will either cause loads of this generations used gpus to go on ebay or better new alternatives may be around although if possible I would buy as soon after launch in case mining increases their prices like with 1070ti for instance

Thanks for the heads up. I want to buy a GPU, that I don't want to upgrade for few years. So, I will be keeping an eye on this. I am tempted to go ahead and upgrade my CPU/Mobo but will wait for a few weeks, hopefully, prices will come down even more for this CPU.

If pre-order is available, I might even do that because knowing what happened last time, the mining will push up the prices, fingers cross, it doesn't. I am hesitant to go down the used route especially if you going to pay £150-£300, I rather buy it new with warranty for peace of mine.
Absolute bargain. Paid 160 for this on Black Friday and it's an amazing CPU. Heat

I bought 16GB Crucial Ballistix 3200Mhz memory for £64 on Amazon about 1 year half ago believe it or not. Bonkers cheap compared to today. That was super cheap for the time as well couldn't believe my luck seeing it listed at that price. This same RAM runs flawlessly in my Ryzen 1600 system too (previously had it running on an X99)
