I paid £183 for this just last month. Great deal for a good chip.

Higher spec? Is it a different model?

Damn right..... memory pricing is too savage to buy into the market.
Not bad however a few things first the refresh is coming, 2nd is there really is no point in anyone buying pc parts as the gpu and ddr4 prices make it insane for anybody to build a rig, it wouldn't matter if its amd or intel or what cpu mobos they release or there continues ridiculous pricing anybody buying parts are looking to store them for X amount of time or pay double rrp on ddr4 and gpu's.

Nobody should be looking to build a pc in the 1st half of 2018, bad news for cpu & mobo sales, aio's, psu's, and ssd's will suffer also.

Deal is ok though.

How is it a higher spec, if it's the same CPU?

One of these arrived this morning 😁

So time to build a new system,

will add another 16gb dimm when memory becomes more realistic.

I'd want dual channel for Ryzen.

I saw options for 3.2 ghz and 3.6ghz for this processor. However the 3.2 is the stock speed, 3.6 is the turbo speed. I thought they were different. Sorry, my bad! Aria description is 3.4ghz stock and 3.6 turbo

Still, Aria are a UK based supplier who receive good reviews and pay UK tax.

Price has been down to £136 on black friday. New ryzen 2 out at the end of march.why buy old stock.
You’d be better off money wise with the Ryzen3 1200 and overclocking it....1/2 thee price and very similar benchmarks when overclocked to this one!

Ryzen 3 is quad core though whereas the Ryzen 5 is Hexacore. Ryzen 5 1600 I think is the sweet spot at the moment especially when oc'd to 4Ghz.

Also not forgetting the 1200 is only 4 cores 4 threads; whereas the 1600 is 6 cores 12 threads
Imo there will be dumping of old stick soon to get ready for Ryzen refresh..
RAM is the killer at the moment.

How low do you think the 1600 will go ahead of zen+ refresh? The zen+ update looks fairly incremental so if 1st gen R5 1600 drops much lower I’ll probably pounce for gen1 ryzen. Then upgrade to zen2/3/whatever is compatible with the same socket in the future...
Now £151.14 at AriaPC. Cannot post the deal as t won't validate.
