This is OEM so if you don't already have a cooler, thats something to consider.

What's the difference of this and the non OEM?

Is it only the stock cooler
Have one of these and a wraith max cooler have overclocked to 4ghz on all cores really good CPU for the price.

Usually yes
For new builds I'd rather the one with cooler. Otherwise it's the same price as what we already see out there

It depends if you plan on overclocking it. The stock cooler struggles with overclocking and decent temps.

If you want to overclock it this is a good buy as you can buy a decent aftermarket cooler.

If you just want stock settings then agree the one with the cooler would be the way to go.

Yeah I did mention it's something to consider. But yeah if you need a cooler too then I'd go for the standard version. Since I already got water cooling I'd rather save the money
OOS

but they have AMD Ryzen 5 2500X for sale at £98.99, but 2600 was the better deal imho

What's the Wraith Max like in terms of noise?

I was looking at the 2700X which is a higher TDP than your 2600 and comes with the Wraith Prism which is believe is pretty similar to the Max. Will most likely run at clock but don't want it to be too loud. And don't want it to spin up and down too rapidly when CPU spikes.

Jaytwocents done a video on overclocking on the wraith prism cooler.
It held up nicely

I have only ever noticed it when running a stress test like prime 95 when overclocking.
Under stress it still keeps temps at max 67 degrees. It's very good considering it's not a high end cooler.

Stock temps on mine is 28 degrees

Thanks for the info. What about noise? I'm not too bothered about the temps. I know that usually if the temps are low, the noise will be low as you can turn the fan profile down. But I know also that there are exceptions - I've always found the CM 212 to be annoyingly noisy even at low speeds, for example.

I never really notice the noise during normal operation if that helps. It also depends on how well your case is cooled.

I have 3 intake fans at the front and 3 exhaust fans one at the rear and two at the top.

Yes that's helpful, thanks. Just wanted to check it wasn't really loud or anything. I'm watching that video and it seems very capable, so I'll just go for it. Cheers
