Bring on Prime Day...
Does anybody think that this will fall even further on prime day? I think this is already an all time low price for amazon and I'm getting itchy feet

Currently in the market for this, a B450 tomahawk motherboard and ram. I guess I should wait for Monday really...

Bring on Prime Day...

We all have our fingers crossed but a lot of us were disappointed last time around and wasted time waiting for prime day haha! But you're right, could be worth the wait... or it couldnt be.. who knows!?

Im looking at the exact same setup myself bud! 2600 and b450, i just cant find it in myself to spend even more money that i set my budget at for the 3600 and an x570 board

Sure, may well be a waste of time. But I can't see it going UP in price after Prime Day. The 3600 is just too good, they wouldn't sell any if they priced it about £125.
Just a quick reminder to all you Amazon Prime users, but if you download the Amazon Assistant extension for your broswer you can get an extra £10 OFF!!

Oh it most certainly wont go up in price but it may not budge either. Regardless even at its recent pricing of around 120-130 its an absolute bargain when we are talking bang for buck!

Yeah I'm the same I can't justify the extra money, this should be decent enough for what I need it for. I just wish I wasn't so impatient

100% You can be mislead very easily if you look too much into it i find, i only play CSGO and R6 Siege and for 144 fps on low (competitive) Settings this + a 1060 or 1660 should be more than enough for me Good luck with your build!

I'm upgrading a pc I built in 2012 as my motherboard died a few months ago, so this should be a step up for me either way! It's crazy though how left behind with the times you get it has taken me all this time to research what I actually need to replace to update it Couldn't even remember how it all goes together.

I'm not saying the 2600 isn't a good option -- it is, and I'll probably be buying one myself in the next few weeks -- but you don't need an X570 board to run the 3600. It'll do just fine on a B450 (and most B350s as well)... which equally means you can get the 2600 on a B450 now and upgrade later
I've built many 2600 systems with a B350 / later B450 boards and you can't knock it, the rest of budget is all about GPU.. why spend an extra 100 on the newer CPU compared to another hundred on a GPU.. unless money isn't an issue but if that was the case u wouldn't pick either cpu.!

Yeah i wasn't implying you have anything against the 2600, but it all comes down to weather or not the 10-15% increase in performance outweighs the 80 quid price difference and yeah im aware of the bios updates you can do (some even without a processor present)

This is very true, i mean if money wasn't an issue i doubt we would all spend much time on Deal websites looking to save a few quid haha, 2600 paired iwth a b450/350 is a real solid build and £100 extra on a gpu can get you miles more FPS than a better CPU ever will

You can get around a 20% FPS increase if you aren't GPU bound but then you are unlikely to pair a 3600 with a 2080 Ti so I would also spend the saved £70 on the GPU as that could mean the difference between a 5700 and a 5700 XT.

If you havent choose a motherboard yet I would recommend a MSI B450 Tomahawk, hard to go wrong at that price point.

The Tomahawk is great value for the price it is at also! Thank you
£109 for this is criminally cheap. I'd build a system right now but I need wireless VR compatibility, waiting to see how it fares with r3k and x570 boards.

£109 but still you're very correct, I was holding out for the 3600 and the x570 but the price of the X570 boards really put me off, and for £ per Punch i really cant say no to the 2600 !

Could it be cheaper for Prime Day? Sure. Is it likely to be substantially cheaper? That seems less likely.

What would you find more annoying? Buying today at £109 only to find it's £100-£105 for Prime Day, or waiting until then only to find that they've cleared enough stock and the price has jumped back in to the £130s?

EDIT: It's back up to £119. Case point, really.

If the tests of hardware unboxed are correct the 3600 will work nicely with a b350 board.

Bought this for £106 a few days back from Amazon warehouse. Tatty box but perfect other than that. Been waiting for this to drop for a while but I can't see it getting significantly cheaper.

It was already £119... with the amazon assistant offer it goes down to 109

You do make a good point though, i highly doubt it will go much lower than this.
Why the hell is everyone taking about a 3600? This is the deal for a 2600. If you can afford a 3600 then why you looking at this? Bloody spam is what it is. This is a deals site, not a PC / your opinions forum. Sick of reading ill informed, lack of basic knowledge comments like these. Go chat elsewhere about comparisons, your thoughts on PC hardware and the like.

Talk about the deal here. For a 2600. A very good deal. Nice1 OP.

Good point. Well worth doing the comparison in performance diff and price difference. You effectively pay 70% more for 15-25% performance improvement. 2600 amazing value indeed and the £80 saved can get you much better GPU if gaming is what you do.

Wow. There is value in discussing the 2600 and the 3600. For some people, the extra gain in performance will be worth the extra. A chat in here can help clarify the difference.
Value wise the 2600 is a no brainier, I have one. However the 3600 could well be better value long term, especially in productivity.

As for it being a deals site, give us a hand will you. Deals are drying up.
