Excellent price, back to irresistible value for money!

Quick answers:
MSI Tomahawk B450 MAX is a great motherboard for this
Yes, it's faster than the 2600X; not by miles, but enough. Worth upgrading from one? Not so much.
You really want 3200MHz or faster RAM to go with this; I've got Ballistix 3200MHz CL16 (product code contains AES, overclocked to 3600MHz CL16) and it's a great combo.
You don't really need to overclock these chips, nor would you gain much from it. In fact, you will gain more by replacing the stock cooler with something sensibly better (BeQuiet DarkRock, Noctua, etc); the issue with 3xxx Ryzens is that they will turbo up, but are somewhat limited by thermals. If you give them better cooling, they can turbo up more cores, for longer, more often; you can tweak maximum current and maximum power draw instead, which just removes some ceilings.
You can try to overclock manually, but you won't gain much - you will however see a considerable increase in power used and heat.
It’s finally dropping, get it quick guys.
Nice! Picked up a 3600 and an MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC for £257! Grabbed the Amazon deal on 16GB Corsair vengance for £69.98. All the key bits for £340. Banging!
Anyone buying a new motherboard for this might want to spend extra on 500 series motherboards, AMD announced today that Ryzen 3 wont be supported on anything less than the 500 series.

I'd get on this quick before they pull one of the codes.
Cheapest I’ve seen this go for, great price. Don’t know to wait until the new chips or get this one. This may even go cheaper when the new ones come out and to be honest I am fine with the overclocked 1700 for now. Heat added great price
Cracking deal. Not sure if it will a whole lot cheaper initially. Either case alot of CPU for the money.

Hi what's your stable overclock?
Just bought this for 151 and it's been dispatched.... Worth an email to Currys?

3.85GHz anything more needs more voltage which I don’t really want to do.
Great price, wouldn’t hesitate if you’re looking to get this
This is an absolutely insane price. For those not in the know, this is AMD's equivalent to the i5 9600k, with newer technology and arguably better in several other metrics.

I've got a 3600x, and can't justify this purchase. But this is an absolute steal.

Any good motherboards to pair this with?
Great deal, I don't really need it my 1600 is still fine but I'm tempted.
cheers trigger pulled now just the rest to buy
Ryzen 3700x can be also bought stacking both codes, for £260 odd
Anyone had any experience asking Currys to refund the difference? Paid 151 yesterday
Is this much better than a ryzen 5 2600x ?
Very good price for a very fast processor

You can still get rid of the 1600 on a second hand market for around £80

Probably a good upgrade from the 1600 but not as good from a 2600x

I prefer Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX builds myself, so I've paired my CPU with a B450M Mortar Max (but the Tomahawk Max is the ATX variant; also very highly regarded). Highly, highly recommend the pairing and no issues to report. If I was building a desktop though, I'd wait a month or two to see what further news we get of the new AMD and Intel ranges. There will be some bargains to be had that's for sure, but more importantly to get those new processors one might need new motherboard platforms.

Nonetheless if you want a PC now- that runs any game (paired with the right GPU) at 1080p flawlessly and decently at 1440p- a Ryzen 3600 and a competent motherboard will be good to go for a few years at least.

I don't think both codes are supposed to be active, so it's unlikely they'll give you a refund and they might pull one of the codes so that others can't get it.
Brilliant deal. I have been considering this for a while but want the prices to come back down.

Now the issue is finding a Mortar MAX in stock sonehwere.
fantastic price, get em while it lasts!

Agree with most of the above, spend a bit on some decent ram and a good after market cooler, then don't bother overclocking, just let the turbo boost work for you instead. Worth tweaking the ram speed and timings instead which helps a lot with this processor (and doesn't cause so much problems with heat etc)
I've just ordered one, but now I'm doubting this will provide much of an upgrade over my i5 6600k for gaming (largely VR). Any thoughts?

Yeah I saw scan said the 5th but it is still not in stock. Also a friend had major problems with their scan order recently. I've never had a problem but presumably they could be struggling with the current disruption.

Typically the MSI Mortar was available in a few places but I didn't buy it as I was waiting for the CPU to drop. Now I have the CPU and no motherboard.

Also the Thermaltake Core V21 case is out of stock on Scan and is a lot more expensive on Amazon.

Yes as most new games now benefit from having more than 4 threads.

BTW I also have a 6600k at 4.7Ghz, it's certainly been a great CPU.

Now i'm just waiting for the X570 Tomahawk to be released!
