19870 benchmark, which is nearly as high as the i9-9900, but at a third of the price?

Without any context to his comment the most likely thing is that he has just bought this CPU for a more expensive price and is upset at the bargain this is.

Because calling this CPU crap would clearly be madness. Obviously.

Was literally about to check out for the ccl eBay deal and I thought I would check once more
Crap
These were something like £187 last week weren't they?

The new ones coming must be good I guess

God I hate Aria's website, it looks like some old fuzzy print advert

Does this need a GPU and if so, which one?

Something like a 5700 or a 5700XT seems to be a common choice

I'm building another pc and was looking for a cheap 2600 but as there aren't any this seems tempting.
I don't actually need one this fast as I've a decent pc already but this is the closest in price to the 2600 than it's ever been I think.
Doesn't seem worth trying to save £50.
But I'll guarantee if I buy one the 2600 will drop like a stone 😃

The guy's an obvious troll and a low effort one at that. Don't waste your time bud

The 3600 has massive gains compared to last gen 2600 (unlike what we have come to expect from, *cough* Intel) but it depends on use case if it's actually worth £50-£60 more. Are you doing 1080p 60fps exclusively? The 2600 is still decent for another couple of years, maybe anything higher than that res and refresh rate wise you'd see gains with the 3600
Special price has finished as there are zero left at that price, now £174
This cpu is roughly 180 with a mxi tomahawk B450 max. Amazing deal

I'd imagine though at 1440p there's little difference with a low to mid range card, which this pc will have.
Would ideally want an 8 core in eventually so was putting a cheap CPU In. for the time being. But at 50 quid more this was tempting

You're right but more money should be spent on the gpu. If you are planning on a build and haven't bought a gpu, the 50 pounds means a better gpu (5700 to 5700xt)
It's won't be my main pc.
When I put an 8 core in it will be.
Was going to put in a 2600 with a view to selling it and upgrading the CPU down the line.
But if the price difference wasn't much i was tempted by the 3600.
Id probably be better off going straight for the 8 core but I don't really need one now and maybe when I do they'll be only be 1700 money by then.

Good deal. I paid £167 a couple days ago thinking it wouldn't get much cheaper this side of Christmas. Guess I was wrong!

OC 2600 4.1 nearly 3600 performance Rather wait for 4600.
Out of stock now at this price.
decent deal this, an alternative is to buy via very.co.uk using the £50 first order code makes it £153.98 (which is what I went for recently, paid in full using paypal)
Great find
theres also the ryzen 7 2700 currently on amazon at £128

Surely with a higher boost and ipc the 3600 is potentially a fair bit faster with a 2080ti and whatever is out next?
I know they are close with something like an xt at 1440p.
Not worth upgrading but surely worth the £50 difference ?

If you are willing to wait till June 2020 why not
Only downside is that it's from Aria. I sent my faulty motherboard back to them in October. Still don't know what is happening with it, despite me asking numerous times. Woeful customer service.
Great processor. I opted for the 2600 and in amd master utility it often boosts 4 or more cores to 3.6ghz and I've not seen my cpu utilisation go above 20% while gaming.
