Great price, but best to wait for the 5000 series as it will be better than this and the 4000 series. Or wait for the 6000 series instead.

So you'll wait a year then?
I've got this and waiting for 4000 series so I can get a 3800/3900 for a reasonable price. This is a good placeholder.

Take care with carbon pro - I was going to go for it and then found several issues related to the VRM thermals when researching online

Really? I was going to go with the tomahawk but then found the audio wasnt the greatest and I have 5.1 surround speakers so wanted something half good. What board did you get in the end?
Thanks! Bit at that price
To think that just 2 years ago an 8700k was £350, this is 90 percent of that performance at less than half that cost. Nice deal.
Well I have ordered a X570 Meg Ace in the end, through CCL Ebay. To be fair that is more than I originally planned to spend, but I treat myself to a new PC only every 4-5 years so I convinced myself.

I think the MSI Meg Unify is great if you want to save another £20 or so.

I also had a close look at the Asus TUF Gaming Plus Wifi - good value for money.

Thisnis all based on reading online and YouTube videos though. I don't have direct experience with any of the X570 boards yet.

The B450 Carbon Pro has some of the best VRMs across both the B450 and X470 range. Not sure where you heard that the thermals were bad but I'm doubtful of that information's reliability.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the B450 boards, I did make an assumption that we were referring to the X570 carbon pro! Please ignore what I have said if it wasn't the X570 chipset motherboard you were talking about.

Ahh okay, yeah I'd agree that the X570 MSI boards are quite weak compared to the competition.

Hopefully not from the Unify and above!

I think you must be right that it wasn't a X570 that was being mentioned, because their alternative was a Tomahawk. I was too wrapped up in my own purchase decision/research to realise it.

I have the Mortar Max, I run HDMI from a 2060S to my AVR and have no issues with audio quality. You’ll need a graphics card anyway with this chip so don’t worry about the on board audio.

Early 2020 is Q4? wccftech.com/amd…ms/
Edit: My bad I misread it, it says that the mobile 4000 series is coming out early 2020, while the desktop is expected for Summer 2020.
