Great price. What's the cost difference between using a fee free card rather than just paying in Euros?

Edit: with Visa it'd work out around £173 for me I reckon.

Great price but cant beat my 2600 for value at £100
Great price! With delivery, a necessary charge, mine came out to £169 using my starling card. Won't be found anywhere else tbh for this price especially not at Fleabay with their seemingly endless discount codes and prices quickly increased to make sure nobody actually saves anything...

I'd give this deal heat multiple times over.

Did you order one yourself? Tough to remember to check the European Amazon stores as well.

Only problem now is actually ordering ram and motherboard slowly slowly as I've now had to bring forward my upgrade plans.

As much as I'm tempted to keep my i5 3570 and get some more ram, I do think I'm fighting a losing battle here and even with another stick of 8gb ram, this will still keep bottle necking my 1070ti in games. The stuttering I was getting on GOW 4 was unplayable. Couldn't and still can't work out why it's so bad.

kwl147 - am in the same boat with my i5 3570/rtx2060, was thinking of pairing this with the msi tomahawk max, and i really dont know why but lots of rgb bling too. ru going with 16gb dimm (3200 or 3600)? any tips anyone ?

I have mine on a Mortar Max, with 3200 C16 RAM. Everything runs at advertised speeds.

Wow that's quite a gap between CPU and GPU. I thought mine was bad.

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max is good. I've felt that the carbon pro AC b450 MSI is better value at basically £20 extra right now. WiFi built in, extra M2 slot etc.

I'm not that fussed tbh about ram. I am more concerned about spec in terms of speed, latency and performance. My case isn't a see through one so I would basically have to run it without a side panel!

Yeah was thinking about dual channel 2x4gb or going 4x4gb for either 8gb or 16gb config. As a gamer and massive tab browser (seriously I have opened so many stupid tabs that even chrome stops displaying them in the bar until I clear some) I didn't think I would need more than 8gb but my system is already struggling on DDR3 single channel.

Was gonna go with 3200mhz but I'm looking at 3466mhz or 3600mhz now bud. The extra speed supposedly is very important on the impact for performance. Was gutted I missed the recent ram deals on here...gonna need to get notifications about this now.

That's not technically accurate. I bought mine from AliExpress for £145. It likely won't be found elsewhere in Europe at this price though, I agree.

I stand corrected. Hot daym. £145 from AliExpress. Surely that came off the back a truck!?

I know Ali Express can be good but THAT good? I've only ever seen it for late £150s if that even. Normally around £160-£170 mark.

2x 4gb in 2019
For a 2019 Gaming PC you should get 16gb but yeah if you're going with 8gb than 2x 4gbs is better than a single stick

Lol ikr. But aside from gaming and lots of web browsing. I'm not exactly a hard core workstation user that needs 16gb lol.

Maybe times have changed lol. I still remember being fortunate to get 2GB ram in 2005 with windows XP.

I'll probably regret not going for 16gb lol. Rather have it and not need it than need it but not have it.

Dual channel in 2x8gb best or quad channel 4x4gb? Or does that depend on the motherboard?

Good point I need to wise up about over clocking now that I'm switching to team red. I've been shy about doing it, after concerns about reliability but also not having a K series processor. Prior to that I had bulldozer.

K series Intel processor bud. I currently have a non k processor which basically in short means, you can look but not touch.

Never really considered the benefits of over clocking ram tbh until now. It's only when people have been shouting from the roof tops about gains that it's been brought to my attention.

Yes, but I was talking specifically about the 16gb config, get 2x8 not 4x4.. I wouldn't advise the 8gb setup anyway, you'll bottleneck yourself before you've even started
Do i bite this is the question. Looking to build a new machine with a Ryzen 5 3600. Recommendations for memory and motherboard ? I ideally wanna see how much it's going to cost for the core stuff to see how much I can chuck at a gpu

Its not you that has changed though, its the software industry, to them ram is cheap and plentiful.
16gb is the minimum I would recommend to any Windows 10 gamer as just one game and a web browser can easily use the majority of it up.

Yeah funny thing

(I just ordered new parts yesterday and today)
I first got my gaming PC in 2014, I got 2133mhz DDR3
Guess what I've been using for all this time
I found out the other day it was set to 1600mhz even though it's a 2133mhz memory so I overclocked it to 2300
Little advice make sure your PC is using what you paid for and try to get a little more

Yeah I had actually forgotten until now but I'd been monitoring my resources being used by my current set up and I'm maxing out the RAM.

CPU usage is nearly always above 50% and my ram usage is anywhere between 70 to 90% basically always. Merely upgrading my ram wouldn't have solved much.

Damn Chrome and FF are just as bad as each other in thinking RAM is like free water.

Bigger memory leaks than ever before~~.

Go for 2x8gb, as like most before it 4x stretches the memory controller's capability limiting over clocks and with Ryzen you'll want to overclock the ram as much as possible for the best framerate as there is not much left in the cpu to overclock.

Yeah when I first got my PC 8GB was fine a game like Rust is crazy with how much ram it uses
Like I've got 8gb and one of the biggest reasons for upgrading is basically rust. Of course low fps on other games but on Rust it's wow

wth how does under clocking even happen like that lmao.

I shall have a look but having purchase this CPU. Need to follow through with the upgrade. Gonna order an MSI Carbon Pro AC B450. Probably good to get some opinions from the pc committee on here if that is a good choice.

It's only £20 extra on the Tomahawk from MSI. Comes with built in BT 5.0, WiFi and extra M2 slot. Thinking it's worth it?

That is news to me but I can say I've learnt something new today.

Makes sense what you say though (having to rack my brains back to when I read about the basics of ram, page file etc)

Might explain the absolutely awful tearing and jittering super often on GOW 4. Had to stop playing it because I keep shooting even when the buttons aren't being pressed! Amount of times I've been killed and this is on normal mode! (I'm shocking, sue me ).

I suspect the differences are minor at best and really it's a case of if you're gonna make use of the features on offer?

Minor. How often am I really upgrade my system? Maybe once every like 6 years until it's dying at best. Might as well do it properly.

Yeah I'm gonna shoot off an order for the Carbon Pro AC B450 purely for features.

It is stupid. Its so damn confusing looking at MSI range and then there's been a lot of bleating on the net about issues with bios updates. Most of which I couldn't be bothered to dig through. Instead I got the general gist which was that MSI was the best for B450. God help you if you choose someone else...

Dunno what to make of it but that board has features I'd make use of TBF.

Yeah I ended up with the same thing with the ram. Rather have and not need it than need it and not have it.
