Some extras: bhphotovideo.com/c/c…REG

full list here pal.

3-Way AMD CrossFireX, USB C, extra 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 (x4 mode) 2x22110 rather then 1, and another non 22100. higher spec ethernet, and 1 x S/PDIF, thermal sensor.

@sarden84 always with the heat, I was thinking of going 3600 with b450 tomohawk max, however the pcie 4.0 and aesthetics of this board are lovely, what do you think? Shall I pull the trigger

for what it is, and the price this is a cracker of a deal no doubt about it.

its X570 its got the features, its looks good, its performer, its highly rated. take away the cpu cost, ur getting a board whats over £230 for less £200, which beats that under £200 best budget X570 Asus Tuf Plus, which is the best under £200 imo.

but that old slog statement Tomahawk B450..... cheaper, good value, it was but running high.

me: id stick with the tomahawk, B450 is a brill price, or id hangfire n check out B550 that sub 100 mark n see.

so this is a deal for them ones which want X570, desire without dounts want X570, want the slight upper ones, without going bloody daft,

so id still say tomahawk if thats whats your 1st choice on desire..

I am after 3700x+Asus TUF X570-Plus but after seeing this I dont see any significant gaming boost considering 3700x vs 3600.

techspot.com/art…00/

Is it worth it to pay extra for 3700x? What I see here its only 5% better for almost double the cost.

Good Question... it really depends, there can be nice havs on having the 3700x though. watch this: youtube.com/wat…3ec

with a 5700xt

but ur right, the cost is ££ for gamers in general if thats the only intention. where as money could be put on to something else as well.. so thats something to factor in.

further to my post above: how much u seen the tomahawk atm, out of stock loads of places and is upto about £120.. ouch,

have a look at the MSI B450M MORTAR TITANIUM, now that is one nice looking board..

Agreed and thats from a 3700x user, but i was lucky to get my own at a steel price, the gap is £120ish,
that % n so on gain .... is worth £60..... n the other £60 is the extra core cost for the workhorse, so if u cant justifiy the both aspects then it prob isnt the cpu for you, unless u got more ££ then sense.

that £120 could go towards a higher GPU, slight swift on the mb, ram 3600mhz then 3200mhz, nvme then typical ssd. and so on..

you mean the X570 Tuf PLUS. £195 board. however AWD do also do a combo package for this with a 3600 for £330 another cracker deal....
awd-it.co.uk/amd…tml

VS
X570 Prime Pro £349, high cost board, higher features... most defo worth £20
awd-it.co.uk/amd…tml

VS

X570 prime P (either get a 3600 £158 atm DIY or for £164 get them) so £337
awd-it.co.uk/asu…tml

so out of all these 3.... middle one. best value,
Reviews are rather bad and that put me off from buying.

Nothing like Amazon I suppose.
Just bought a b450 gaming pro carbon. All I need from this is the 3600 hopefully a deal comes knocking around soon.
Gamers should not be buying the 3700X unless you've got extra budget on top of 16GB RAM and 5700XT / 2070 Super or something. At that point I would still recommend a faster GPU before spending more on a CPU. Go 3600.

Unless you have ANY other multithreaded workload that would benefit from the cores, in which case 3700X is the current budget workstation sweet spot champ.
Next year finally AM5 socket and new motherboards. No point over paying for motherboard especially when used with £150 CPU.

Yeah I agree.
People cab buy what they like but this board or the £100 gaming max, you aren't really going to notice a huge difference for your extra 100 quid.
I'd just go cheaper now and save the money for what's coming in 2 years time.
As much as I love the premium looks, I really see little advantage in X570 vs good B450 mobo. Can't even find any review benchmarks that would show any noticeable performance difference in real life, so instead of putting extra £100 on mobo, I'd rather put this towards better CPU or GPU.

Really agree. Been so impressed with the little champ of the 3600/X but I work with audio too and the 3700X simply can't be ignored. But as a gamer I cannot see why you would go with anything other than a 3600X.
Good find

I bought an arctic cooler from AWD-IT last week.

Didn't get notification to say it had been posted but checked their site and saw that there was a note that looked like a tracking number...it was.

I'd recommend checking stock levels with them first, they were a little slow responding

I came across the tomohawk max for £110 on very, however as you mentioned it's now out of stock. I'm looking to start my build at the end of June so I have enough time to see what b550 is saying, I'll definitly be asking your advice when they drop! Sorry to be a pain
Is it wortwhile getting Ram/Disks from them or from somewhere else?
I've just started video editing after purchasing a Mavic Air 2. I've got a gaming rig but can't comfortably do it on that, so I used my home office PC instead which I built myself and I know isn't up to spec for such a task.

What I'm really looking for is a 3800 CPU with potentially a 2070 Super or 2080.

Would this same retailer also be a good place to get a 3800 bundle? Here's the only one I could find.
awd-it.co.uk/amd…tml
Silly idea getting a bundle where the board is more expensive than the cpu.

compare to the rest of the market........ these package WITH RAM. were good value when ram was expensive though the field. but ram has gone down in some areas so just compare the price.

Bear in mind that you have the 3700X for about 260 right now (Curry’s with discount code, if that’s still on), and a cheaper motherboard for close to £100, making these similarly priced. Why not just grab the better processor? Fair enough if you need the extra stuff this board offers though
Real_mac08/06/2020 00:45

Il stick to intel thank you

Intel is going down, Lisa Su of AMD has turned around the company's fortunes over the past 10 or so years to the point that this year she is officially S&P 500's highest remunerated CEO.
Intel is still struggling to fix the security flaws in their CPU's first highlighted to them in 2018, this in itself has driven billions in business to AMD.
This article provides a succinct summation of why Intel, at least for now, is the Titanic of the CPU world.

you do know how preset packages work dont you? the ram dropbox options is though their range of mb/cpu bundles,
from the likes of a 1200/a320 packages all the way up?....... and their intel bundle range.

so the variants of low grade ram, all the way to Corsair 3000 3200 3600mhz, and also XPG D60 3600mhz ram?
which the laters is good ram.....

so if one of the higher ram is matching ur requirements per this bundle, the best advice given: compare the addon price to the market price elsewhere is bang on?

kinda following you...

u mean the prev posted combo from ebay? by the likes of CCL..

yeah these ram ones are adata, which for something of this range is a NO NO, but if its a good price for a lower spec say board, this cpu or lower and ur a budget budget buyer and the deal is good, nothing wrong with adata XPG 3000mhz they use.

thats decent budget ram, done plenty of budget systems myself using it, but u have to check its that and not some cak 2400mhz some do.

I had a dreadful experience with them last year, bought a Ryzen 3600 bundle and the mobo was dead on arrival. I RMA'd it to them and didn't even receive confirmation of arrival. Contacted CS who told me to contact Support and got nothing back for 2 weeks+. To be fair to them I sent an email complaining and they apologised and sorted it for me very quickly, but getting to that point was painful. Just my experience, could well be an isolated incident, but I'd advise caution
