    Heat added OP.

A great budget chip, pairing it with a B450 board, 16GB/32GB DDR4 (memory is really cheap at the moment) and something like an RX6700 or RTX3060 would see a superb 1080p/1440p gaming machine for relatively little outlay.

Yep. I put together a list for my friend with used and new parts. Came out around £420.

    Ryzen 5 3600 + stock cooler
    32GB RAM (16x2)
New B450 mATX motherboard (4 RAM slots)
    RX 580 8GB
    New SN570 1TB SSD
New Montech AIR 100 LITE case
    New Kolink 600W 80+ Gold Semi-modular PSU
    + kettle lead

Pretty good starting machine that can be upgraded to great parts later on like 5700X and 6700XT or better. (edited)

Got one for my 10 year olds first PC
Put it on an A520 with an Nvidia 1650, 16GB RAM and 1TB M2 HD

Chuck it in a cheap RGB case with a 500w power supply and a basic gaming keyboard and mouse bundle and runs Roblox and Asphalt 9 more than adequately for around £450 (edited)

How much better than Ryzen 3600

it's a tricky one to answer. Is price an issue? The 3600 can be had for half this price, used.
