So what's the delivery estimate? Curious how fast these get delivered.

Ive ordered last 4 year's from aliexpress... no issues at all. Spent around £180 per phone and ordered loads from them. All came through perfectly.

I usually get things within 5-10 days. Tracking number too. Takes about a day or 2 for it to get sent out tho from the day you placed the order

I bought a camera from Aliexpress recently, so I don't mind AliExpress. I bought some crazy doll weird jewellery stuff from there a few years ago, was fine. Amazon are even selling dodgy Ryzens, dodgy as in the seller or the seller sells as new but it's clearly used.
From.ryzen wiki, wonder if these are the returned batch.

Segmentation fault. Some early shipments of Ryzen 1000 series processors produced segmentation faults on certain workloads on Linux, especially while compiling code with GCC.[175] AMD offered to replace the affected processors with newer ones that are not affected by the problem.[176]

Good to hear that your aliexpress is always coming through with no issues. It makes me laugh at how people don't want to buy from China as they think it's dodgy and yet don't put 2 and 2 together that the items they buy in UK is from China... but they pay more lol
I’d personally buy either a 2700 or 2700x for a bit more £120-155 depending on offers, or wait for the 3700 or 3700x to come down in price to around £150 in a few months when their new APU’s (4000 series) come out.

Well you know what they say, "it's your money it's your choice".
Not from ali express first price is a joke. Duty taxes may be applied. No guarantee. Plus it willl end up as refurbished, cracked and full of water :).
I gotta chime in on this. Good price but a CPU from AliExpress is a no no from me. These could very well be the returned seg fault ones.
Don't think it's a good price, 2600 might be 6 core but it much more powerful if you're doing gaming

Hardware unboxed says 6c12t is best value. Techhardware says new xbox will be 8c16t and so we should move to that.

My 4c8t i7 3820 x79 machine is dying... So wondering whether to get ryzen 5 1600 1700 2600 2700 etc.... Keep the case and psu and gpu and replace motherboard cpu and ram.

2600 is 105 new on amazon
Ebay has 1700 for 125
And I saw a ryzen 5 1600 for 60 quid... Damb just checked. Sold on ebay :(((

Techyescity says get 2600x on a320
Hardwareunnboxed says always go for b450 board.

What do you guys think?

I want a 16gb 6c12 system and spend as little as possible as that is part of the fun!

I'd say if you're in it for the long game get a nice motherboard B450 and go for the 2600. The 1700 has weaker cores. I agree with your first statement and I follow that which is why I got the 2700 instead. I too believe gaming will use 8 cores too. But clock speed and single threaded performance will always be key for gaming.

Thanks! Was looking at ryzen 5 1600 for 90 at amazon but warehouse has a r7 2700 for 120!

Was going to get a b450 with 4 memory slots for future expansion but other than that I have no idea on the differences! Good sound card would be nice for my 5.1 analogue set up.

I think auto overclock or boost is only for x series? 2600x is about 115...

Thanks for help! I keep watching benchmarks on ryzen but my x79 was going well but mobo seems to be past it now and random freezes all the time

You can overclock on a nice B450 motherboard, neither they are that expensive. I'd suggest going for a tomahawk series. 120 is a great price for a 2700 I'd say jump for it
All Ryzens are overclockable
I feel that ATM the 2700 is the best deal .. the x versions are better binned and have a better cooler but 20% higher price. 8c/16t for £120 that'll do nicely ? Suits you sir!
