It's described as "In stock on 23 December" so you won't make Christmas, but it's still a decent saving compared to the best current UK price (Amazon UK has it coming into stock on 22 December for £289.99)

NOTE: I've guesstimated the shipping. Can't get it more exact unless I go through the motions of ordering it. If there's a more accurate number, please let me know in the comments and I'll fix ASAP. Thanks!

Best CPU around at that price. Could still always pick up a 1700 cheaper which also saves you buying a cooler and you can overclock that to get performance close to the 1800X.

Many 1700 seem to overclock better as AMD have binned these chips to operate a lower TCP. The 1700x and 1800x are 95W CPUs and the 1700 is a 65W CPU.

Plus, you can also sell the Wraith RGB cooler that you get with the 1700 for about £25 on eBay.

Wow, seems to be the cheapest it' ever been. 🔥

If I was to buy this and it had a fault, could I return to Amazon UK?

The 1700 has a lower TDP due to its much lower clock speed, rather than because it's binned well. It has the lowest base clock of any Ryzen CPU. In terms of overclocking I guess you could say it technically overclocks the most, but only because it starts so much lower. In terms of maximum frequency, it's certainly less likely than the 1800X to hit 4GHz or above.

Of course, we're talking about fairly insignificant margins either way. The 1700 was always a much better deal, though the margins are thinner now with the 1800X coming down in price so much.

Novatech were selling the Wraith Spire LED for £4.97 a couple of weeks ago (must have been a misprice) I bought 6, wish I'd bought 100 now, i'm selling them for 5 times what I got them for!

Damn, that was good deal!

Deal is hot, my Amazon UK order has only just been dispatched after three weeks! may get on Friday. Dont think I will worry at paying £289, just glad its finally on its way. Have some heat though. Between out of stock and out of stock in demand CPU, everything has gone up in price.
