Unbelievable price Geoff
Absolute bargain for an 8C/16T chip. I still can't believe how great the pricing is for the Ryzen 2nd Gen and they're still dropping.

Will this qualify for the free game choice + game pass?
You can easily overclock these to 2700X performance.Bargain.
Nope, these retailer does not take part in promo.

Thanks, that looks identical to the game pass offer. Is the free game offer list the same companies? If so, I'll wait for now.

Yea that's the same offer
Amazes me how cheap these are now, what an age we live in
I guess this is the new q6600 but with 8 cores instead of 4.

huh ccl is so is box, scan isn't and ebuyer is only doing xbox pass. I'd ignore that list and check with your fav etailer.
Can I replace my Ryzen 5 with this one without changing motherboard/re-solder socket?

Yes. if it's first generation ryzen 5 you might need a bios update though.

That’s not Ebuyer? AMD list very clearly the CPUs/GPUs that qualify for each deal.

That list above is accurate for the retailers giving the deal but its not the only list people buying should be looking at

If you can wait a few months 3000 series will drop a hit further. If you need now. Buying this, use it for 6 months. Sell it for about £80 and upgrade if you feel the need. Just ensure you get a 3000 series capable motherboard.
Paid the same for 2600x a year ago, hot

I've just bought 32GB DDR4, I'm buying whatever is the cheapest 6 core AMD so it'll be a 2600 probably as the 1600 AF aren't guaranteed to be £85 or so if you can find one. I have a GTX 1060 3GB graphics card. I have an i7 3770 at the moment, so looking for a modern system that is very fast at booting and much faster I/O on the storage so M.2 and I'll be running Linux. A 3600 is overkill for what I need to use the computer for. It depends what you want to use it for. 6 cores / 12 threads is enough. 32GB RAM is really what I need more than CPU power. I'll be running more than one operating system at a time so I need the RAM.

Get this, no need to get a 3000 series. If you are a gamer, the graphics card you choose for your system, will make the biggest difference.
Hi just for gaming shall I get this or 3000 series gonna pair with 2060 super or 2070

I'm in the same boat. 8 years now on my i7 2600k. Still rockin' a GTX 460 with it too. And that's another predicament altogether - a GFX card

I would get a 5700xt over a 2060 super, you seem to get better value for money, or go for a 2070 super and I would go for this if its just gaming

3600 is faster than the 2700X for gaming let alone the 3700X. Though the difference between 3600 and 2700X is pretty small.

5700XT is a better deal than the 2060S and 2070S if you don't mind AMD's drivers and a lack of hardware RT but in a few months the RTX 3000 series will be coming out and it'll be a die shrink like Pascal was (GTX 10 series) so large increase in performance is to be expected.

Are you sure the 3000 series is coming out that soon? I wasn't even expecting it this year!

Along with an increase in price.

Yeah quite. 5700/XT is by far the best value option currently. Die shrink doesn't always amount to huge increase in performance! Also it could be the back end of 2020 when the 3060etc. options come out.
