Keep in mind that The Outer Worlds is on that 3 months of GamePass already, so you should probably take the Borderlands 3 key.
This is an insane price, and possibly will age, long-term, better than even the 3600 (though in games and such will be a bit (read: not noticeably when oc) slower due to less IPC and boost clock, i.e. single thread performance.) I choose this over waiting for the 3600 as I like to have several things going on at once and having experienced i5 Vs i7 a few times now (only having afford ed i5), where the i7s have aged better, more cores makes sense to me, anyway. I generally keep machines running 5-7 years, and try to make use after, and with things going the way they are, we may end up with 8 cores becoming standard before too long.

I bought this processor for 180 end of June / set it up in July, and it's been great. I have undervolted and overclocked, and it runs cool and quiet. Managed to pass benchmarks at 4.25ghz all cores but with high volts and power draw. Run her 24/7 cool and almost silent with a 3.9 all core and just 1.138V. it never hits 60C even flat out with my gfx card also maxxed, using a gammax GT £20 air cooler.

Outrageously good price. Although I imagine some will want to hold off to BF to see if there's a deal on the 3600 (I wouldn't bet on it though).

The free game thing is a ballache but you usually do it with AMD rewards website and wait a fair while for a code etc. You have to download a programme that verifies your hardwa, so you need an amd processor or gfx card in whatever machine you use.

So you need any AMD processor/card? I already pulled the trigger for this but don't have an AM4 board atm Do have an RX 580 in my current rig though.

I believe so, yes... I managed to claim my 5700xt games before it came when I had my 2700 installed... AND managed to claim repards for a second 2700 using only the first cpu.
Im not 100 percent sure, 95 but not 100, possibly others may be able to confirm or Google maybe should it be absolutely critical. I claimed nearly a month after receipt and it worked so you have some time.

AMD rewards is a horrible system though and they take their sweet time actually delivering the codes to register the game. World war z took nearly two months!

Can these codes be sold of?
Insane price .
By a country mile the best bang per buck processor for productivity.
This was AMD's flagship CPU 6 months ago ,now its £140 .

I think my phone maybe non binary
Great chip, my Ryzen 1700 is still going strong even now and I've not overclocked it or anything yet, no need to.

You have to Email Lisa Su Directly and ask very very nicely
I just emailed amd telling them I bought the cup and they said u need to contact ur retailer for codes... wtf do I do to get the codes
Bought one of these 12 months ago for a lot more than this, and it’s great. Runs really well. Intel prices were crazy this was the only sensible option, and no regrets.

Correction: I actually got the 2700X, doh.

Just bought the 3600 but gonna stick to it, despite the £40 difference. I’m sure there’s no logical reasoning, but hey ho

Depends on what you plan to do with it. For gaming the 3600 is the better choice and probably worth the £40. For more productivity focus then the 2700 is better bang for buck.

picked one up, going to slowly build a new system for work from HUKD nice find thanks.
I'm looking for a CPU to improve my render times on blender. this or the 3600? or something else under 220 pounds?
Wow. I paid 300 last summer for that
Mental price for this. I put it into my new 4k60 video editing build and, when paired with an Nvme boot drive and 64gb RAM, it does exceptionally well. At £169 I thought it was a bargain. At this price, with the two extras, it's a complete no-brainer.

King of kings at this price. Sorely tempted.

As explained on amd.com/en/…dle you will get your code from the retailer to redeem on the AMD site. I am told by a friend it can take about a week for the code to come through.

I bought the ASRock Steel Legend B450M for my son's mATX build:
uk.pcpartpicker.com/lis…6sk

But if your budget allows it, go for the MSI Mortar Max:
MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Motherboard mATX, AM4, DDR4, LAN, USB 3.2 Gen2, TYPE-C, M.2, Mystic Light Sync, HDMI, Display Port, AMD RYZEN 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen Ready amazon.co.uk/dp/…K99
Is it worth upgrade to this from a 1700x?
Welp, no christmas presents for anyone but me this year I suppose.

5 - 7 years is what I consider the 'intel upgrade period' - You generally build a decent rig and it will last that amount of time. With AMD, they don't change sockets as often, so you can do more micro-upgrades along the way with BIOS updates.

Got my eye on these new AMD chips for a potential 2020 upgrade to my rig, but first I want to see what Intel does. Everyone knows their raw core performance is everything. Games are still not using all cores and I think we're a while away from it yet, judging by the Steam HW survey.

A worthy sacrifice.
