Great CPU for that price. Been this price since before Xmas tho. More or less standard price for it now. If not in a rush then it’s often on offer for £122ish when eBay do their discount code deals.
129/131 standard RRP!, but non the less a great deal for a very good item at now a very goood RRP. deals make it sweeter but nice to have a product at goood selling price all over the web.. price/performance bang on!.

This is the CPU to get for many...

yeh this is awesome stuff. Not far off 2 years ago this would of been a HEDT chip costing over a grand.
Its bonkers we have a 4ghz 16 thread chip at entry level.
Came accross this review of the 3700x, they show the 2700x in the tables, theres a bit of difference there and with power consumption too

massive price difference for the new generation though

The 2700x is a Zen+ while the 3700x Zen2 is new architecture leading to better IPC. Tbh the gaming benchmark isn't really a good point of reference as you might as well go for the 3600 for strictly gaming.
These 8/16 are for content creation, virtualization or heavy number crunching mostly.
I bought one of these before Christmas for this price. I was a great bargain then, and it still is now. Overclocks to the 2700x easily too if that’s what you want. Voted hot.
The current content creation king imho. Excellent value. Gamers might want to jump up to the 3600 but Zen+ was hardly a slouch in that dept...
Isn't this normal price, give or take a couple of quid..?

This does seem to be the new current price. Many Ryzen models have come down to new price points.

Yeah, at this point though it feels like there are more Ryzen deals than days in the week - is everyone in the country building PCs in their spare bedrooms now?

Feels that way. Ryzen gave the consumer CPU space a huge shot in the arm. Since I've started learning Blender, I'm getting more and more desperate to upgrade from what feels like a now very pokey i7-4770 ....
Wow makes the first gen Ryzen 8 core worth even less, gosh great price for 8 cores.

Yes, a much needed shot in the arm indeed. Intel have milked the cash cow for a long time. I don't Blend but I imagine double the cores and threads will make a huge difference to CPU rendering time.
