With the Ryzen 3000 series due out shortly, I'd hold off.. ...oh wait!!!

That's a killer price for this CPU
Wow that's a very good price for the Zen+ 12nm part. Just overclock this and you'd be good to go. Heat added

Wonder if Amazon will match to this price.

Great price great product. If ur in the look out for a higher core count.

But if u want gaming all ways go via the 2600x at this price end.. rather then this, or drop to 2600 marg %lower frames at much lower cost and same level as a 2700 on gaming.

Whether you wait for Ryzen 3 or not this is a ton of cpu for the money. 8 cores 16 thread top tier performance for less than 200 quid? Add it to an 80 quid mobo and you are flying. Craps all over intel equivalent for power, performance, security and price.
Excellent price and with the game pass. I think for gaming, the 3600 looks to be a better option for not much extra but for productivity this is a great deal. Heat!

We are looking something for video editing.

cant decide whether to see if this will drop more or get the 2600

Anyone used the 2600 or this to video edit. Any advice appreciated:)

2600 will be absolutely fine. Save £50 over the 2700 which is only 24% on multicore whilst it is on par with the 2600 on single and quad core (in fact 2600 v.slightly better). Video editing loves more ram and faster ram so you'd have £50 spare for upgrading in that department.

But worse than a 2014 i7 at gaming.

Intel don't even *have* anything equivalent, they're beaten at every level and price point now
Difference between this and the 2700x? Feel like the 2700x should £200 as a deal buys like £240
