Was thinking about buying 2700 for 8 cores and much cheaper. than current 3rd generation. This was usually 40 pounds more expensive so not worth it in my opinion with that price difference. Now this is basically 2700 price.
Brilliant price - lowest ever. Ordered. Thanks.

Couldn't agree more. Best time to buy 2700x. It's got higher TDP and binned better so overclockig all cores close to rated boost.
The included cooler is also quite impressive you can get away with decent overclockig if you aren't fussed about sound levels.

If it is primarily a gaming rig I would personally suggest the 3rd gen 3600 for your boy, it can be had for around the same price, if not cheaper, and it has much better single core speeds which help massively for gaming and trades blows in multicore workloads (wins some loses some). It also has a lower tdp, 65W vs 105W, so will potentially help with the bills too, here are a few comparisons hope this helps
