You were right,I have it in my shopping basket, don't know whether to get the gaming plus max board which will arrive Sunday or order the tomahawk, which is in stock on Sunday but won't get till wed, probably?

I would go for the gaming plus max board. A decent PSU is the Corsair 550W Semi Modular for £57.99. GPU wise, what resolution are you looking to game at?

I have bought the 7 2700x and the gaming plus max, just a PSU and GPU to get.

There is a Corsair TMX gold semi mod for £64 from Amazon.
I assume that will be ok, my build comes to 339 watts so far, not including the GPU.

I have an AOC 32" 2560 X 1440 monitor that I bought last week.

I was thinking of either going with an rx590 for £160 ish which I believe will play hd at high settings or quad hd at lower settings.
or maybe just go for the Asus Radeon rx5700 from overclockers that comes in at £250 after cashback, I believe that will play everything at quad hd at high settings, if it fits in the Meshify C case that I have bought

I would go for the rx 590 with the 2700x, saves a good amount of cash and it does the job. If u plan to play 4k then dont even consider rx 590, rx590 is good at 1080p and 1440p

I think I have the same AOC monitor you have! I'm driving it with the older and slower rx480 8Gb. I can just about play most games i've tried on game pass at medium at QHD (outer limits works at high :)) although I do occasionally hit the bottom of the freesync range. A rx590 would probably do the job however if you can stretch to the rx5700 QHD will definitely be nicer.

Nice. Not sure I'd get away not getting my under 5s something! Yes the white square should be thermal paste. It usually has a cover to protect it on the Intel coolers I've used. You'll know if you've got a good mount if it hits the advertised boost speeds (or damn near).
