Imagine how cheap these will be this time next year !

That sort of thinking is what leaves you running a 2500k in 2020, like me.

Showing as £265.99 for me!

Edit: Had to manually select the one from CPU-World-UK-Ltd to get the £259 price, not sure why amazon didn't do that automatically!

I am not so extreme so just took advantage of the great price for a 2700X ( from i7 4970) and it’s amazing what you can get for your money. In the next year or two...one of these? A 3900/39050 or maybe a 4000 series...oh the choices !

Or a 3950X
Perfect timing, will do nicely in my NAS
Do you get the free games with this offer? I don't see it mentioned but wondered if you claim via AMD rewards?

Damn. What a NAS
AMD have been gathering strength since Ryzen launched. Under 5 years ago you could buy their stock for less than £2. Now it's worth over £40. Bet you want a time machine now eh? Beats using it to save 50p on Ferrero Rocher deals.

The bomb will truly drop with Zen 3/Ryzen 4000 though later this year. AMD will tidy up all the inherent cache latency on these 8 core parts and you'll likely see IPC in excess of anything Intel will have available at that time. Meaning single core performance will finally meet expectations.

That's all they need to do. Get level IPC with say a 9900K and it's game over.
Excellent deal. i'm not quite at the point of needing an upgrade, but will probably hop on the next set of Ryzen CPUs
Up to £265 now
