What else can this code be used for. Looking for a Nintendo switch.
This is the best CPU deal on the net right now, better than the 3600.
The 2700x is marginally slower than a 3600, however

>This comes with a superb cooler, the Wraith Prism rgb, the gen 2xxx coolers are wayy better than gen 3xxx. The 3600 cooler doesn't even have a copper slug, it's loud, and some of them are unbearable (I had one that whined)

The 2700x comes with a free game, the 3600 doesn't

All round this works out at about £55 cheaper than a 3600 with the extras, and it's basically identical ingame and better in applications.

Do i upgrade from a 2600? I was looking at spending £30 on a cooler and OCing it? Will this be better than an OCd 2600 for gaming at 1440p?

Marginal, unnoticable upgrade. Only do it if it costs you £40 or less.

Yeah i'm really tempted with the free borderlands too, though i don't think i would purchase it otherwise I'm close to ordering as i was looking at spending on the cooler too, which bring my 2600 to £110 (80 cpu + 30 cooler) im really unsure lol

I'm also wondering about future performance given new consoles will be 8 core? do you think this would gain any more performance in future over the 2600?

Anyone's guess man. Quad core was a flop initially in terms of gaming, loads of people went on about futureproofing in 2007, then by 2011 the people who did futureproof looked pretty stupid because they spent so much more cash.

Eventually quads did kick in and the performance gains were big.

Damn im really torn lol, do you know if the 2700x will have higher 'lows' than the 2600 (at 1440p)?

At 1440p its negligible, at 1080p its definitely there.

You wont notice it man, I'd save the trouble unless it really is a free upgrade

Thanks dude, saved me some money there!
I really want to get it, just can't really justify.. Got myself R5 2400G nearly 2 years ago with a plan to replace it with 2700x and "a proper" graphic card in a year or so... But for what I do it is still more than enough!
But this offer is so tempting!!

There doesent seem to be anything good, the only ones that i could find where £220 used after the code and I dont think they are the v2 ones unfortunately

Yea I though the same. I think it's because apparently they are only just getting restock of the V2 switch's from the huge amount they sold at Christmas. So I don't think anyone is dropping prices as they are selling like crazy anyway. Thanks for looking though, I appreciate it.

Yes they do sell very well, the cheapest other deal I can see on the web is around £260-270. The only way to get one cheaper is to do the offer on the credit account with very where they give you 10% off but it seems like a load of hassle getting your credit checked for only 10%, hopefully they will drop again in the near future

Yes I believe you will receive them via email, you have to fill in a little form, something to mention when selling them is the fact they will only work with the processors in the specs of the promotion
For the last couple of years I've been running a i5-6600 (currently with a RX580).

Using these on a Maximus VIII Hero motherboard.

Is it time to jump to Ryzen (something like the 2700x) or should I hold out for the next gen....

Are there any other upgrade options I should be considering??

Answers on a postcard :-)
