    Great price!
A video editor might gain 3 seconds over the 5800x3d...
A 1080p gamer might lose a gnat's winky in fps...
So much choice... What a great time to be alive!

This needs to fall more in price now. 13600kf scores similarly in multi-threaded scenarios while also beating it convincingly at single core workloads/gaming and is cheaper at £290 at the moment brand new.

Would be a decent deal at sub £250 if you didnt want to upgrade from AM4.

yeah might go to Intel next, but 5900x was a brilliant slot in replacement for my ryzen 1600. Ryzen is what Intel needed to start competing again

    For gaming, get the 5800X3D

If you do other processor intense things, like video editing, the 5900X is preferable.

My wife used to have issue streaming live and recording multiple sources at the same time (via OBS). Upgrading to the 5900 solved the issues she had. (she preferred CPU encoding not GPU encoding, based on Da Vinci resolve free version not working with the GPU encoded video files).

We bought it at £330 a few months ago, but I've not seen it cheaper since - so this is a good price. It's good if you're looking for an AM4 socket processor, but if buying a whole new setup - all future AMD processors will use a newer socket so won't fit your motherboard.

4k gaming this or the 5800x3d for around the same price.

For pure gaming and for the same price the 5800X3D gets my vote even though the performance gains will be small at 4K.

CEX have this CPU for £275, a month or so ago it was £250. CEX I think you need a price drop.

They increase prices due to demand, over a month or so ago it was posted here for 250 they sold out a few hours later then restocked at a higher price.
