This was £9.99 last week, but only for a while and it seems some people missed out on it. This week, it seems to have dropped in price at all the retailers, and you can get it from HMV for £7.99 delivered! Supposed to be a popular show, having not seen it, I cannot comment

[img-float=LEFT][/img-float]American Dad, from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, is the animated story of Stan Smith, who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm - as evidenced by the terror alert colour code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up. In addition to Stan's wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members. There's Roger, the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51, who deeply resents the fact that he's not allowed to leave the house, and Klaus, a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish - the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong.

"Family Guy" is a superb show yet, although it often strays into politically incorrect territory, it is still sometimes restrained in its views on society and politics. That's where "American Dad" comes in - an outlet for the makers' exasperation with the state of contemporary America, it pulls no punches in its portrayal of laughable CIA agent Stan and his dysfunctional family. The characters of "American Dad" are not nearly as well developed as those of "Family Guy", yet it's emphasis is far more on its satirical. From the newspaper in the tite sequence which delivers amusing headlines based on the news of the week in which the show was aired to the extremely low blows taken at the American government, it's definitely comedy with a conscience.
The majority of laughs are delivered by Klaus, the perverted German goldfish with the brain of an olympic ski jumper, and Roger, the alcoholic alien who acts as a substitute for "Family Guy"'s Brian. The family themselves deliver some serious home runs in the name of political comedy, particularly Stan who is a hilarious parody of the goverment stereotype and his liberal daughter Hayley, who the writers see as the spokesperson for their own opinions. The laughs are not as consistent as they are with "Family Guy", but if you like your political satire low-brow and dirty, you're going to love this.

At £7.99 this is a bargain! I bought this a few months ago and it's VERY entertaining. If you like 'The Simpsons', 'Futurama' and 'Family Guy' you'll love it. :-D
I was extremely tempted last week at £9.99 but £7.99 is amazingly cheap.. i dont think it can get any cheaper than that for 3 dvd's.
A total bargain for that price! I only rented and watched them all last week or I'd be snapping it up. Such a funny show

I'm now tempted to buy this myself. I've never seen it, but I love Futurama, Family Guy and Simpsons, in that order.
Glad I didn't order this from Amazon earlier! After NUS discount and Quidco cashback it comes to about £6.75!
sweet, missed it earlier this week, just bought this one although I COULDNT GET A NUS DISCOUNT A my card aint come
Thanks - just ordered - awesome series.
Ha yeah saw it up town for £12.99 was going to buy!
Yeh. It's £12.99 in store. I was just in HMV stockton. Web and store prices are different. Free postage online at the moment though, so can't go wrong.
Does anyone know if there is a way to use NUS online?
Yeah you can do 1 of 2 things. Either register with HMV and under customer details, enter ur NUS card number and it should log that on your account and deduct 10% automatically each type you log in and purchase something via your account. If it doesn't recognise your NUS number, like it didn't for me, pop into your local HMV, show them your NUS card and they can give you an HMV own student discount card with its own unique number. If you enter this number in where it asks for your NUS number online, then that should do the trick.PS Great price for a fantastic series, esp for under £7 via NUS and quidco.
It's certainly doesn't enter the realms of brilliance seen in Family Guy, but at that price prob worth having on standby for a night in with a few beers.
Up to £9.99 again at HMV.

This is now available for £7.82 or less at

Use the code "WEEK01" to get 10% off at checkout to take it down to this price. Also 10% cashback from Quidco, meaning you could get it for a little over £7.
i bought this when it originally was released and although it's not as good as the earlier series of family guy, it's still entertaining with similar type of jokes (which was expected since it's made by the same people)..... just the kids are more entertaining than the family guy version.

Overall, if you like adult cartoon comedy, then this is a great deal and if you enjoy family guy, then this is a deal not to be missed.
Try as I might, despite being a massive fan of Family Guy I find that the obnoxious American Dad himself is rarely amusing and Roger (The alien) simply doesn't compare to Brian the dog.

I encourage anyone reading this to investigate the first season of the seemingly little known Robot Chicken (by whatever means necessary, ahem) if they're a fan of Seth Green.
