Thanks for the heads up - if I remember from last years 'shop small' this actually included some larger merchants so will be interesting to see what retailers this can be used for (as well as the smaller shops).

Pretty sure there's never been a limit on the number of spends at merchants, just one lot of £5 cashback per merchant per cardholder.

Shame it's not £5 cashback on £5 spend like it used to be. Multiple cardholders meant I had several nights getting bladdered for free c/o Amex.

Will certainly keep a note

cblfal:p

The map seems to be a bit dodgy: My local comic book shop - Excelsior comics in Bristol - doesn't appear on a general location search, but if you type in the name it's one of the results.

EDIT: Hmm, I think it may simply be that the map is still a work in progress. Before my very eyes the number of retailers in Bristol increased massively every time the page refreshed.

Does anyone know if, in the past promotions, different branches of one chain counted as different merchants?

It depends if the branches are listed as individual merchants by Amex or not. Most are but there's no way of knowing for sure

Yup - thanks. Looking back at the past year certainly you're right - not sure what I was remembering.

HMV are on the list which is a good one.

In the past they had people on there who don't even take Amex, my local Indian was listed in the past and they don't take Amex.

Just found one restaurant who do 50% off on tastecard so with another £5 off will be nice.

So when can we register for this?

will make a note to do this

I found that doing a 'near me' worked where a postcode didn't.

Love this site X)

Do you have to spend at least £10 in one transaction, or can it accumulate over several transactions within the Shop Small period?

£10 or more in one transaction.

Good pub crawl if everyone has an AMEX card

Love this every year. The map they use is always awkward to navigate through. If possible we should all contribute to a list of bigger chains like Hmv mentioned and if the op can update in the first comment etc. I have found certain Burger Kings are on there (franchise) , Jack wolfskin stores, fine burger company, the chain sams chicken and even American express in Brighton lol

Love American Express and this site-match made in heaven!

Thanks, have updated the OP with these stores and will add more as they get mentioned.

So excited, going to have a party to celebrate

Amused to see Phoenix Gentlemans Club Central Milton Keynes is on the list.

It looks like it's being promoted on tv as Saturday ONLY and NOT until 21st December (ie, 1 day only).
I remember a few years back (or even last year), when there was a 10 max limit on merchants for 1 day only. But that was per card.
You had to plan your day!

Shame it's not for additional (supplementary) cards this time.
Not too sure of 'other Cards you might hold' as it lets me add the offer to another card?

You are open to register for the offer from today 10/11/2014 but the offer is to shop between 6th and 21st December
Edited by: "overworked" 10th Nov 2014

It's not exactly 'open' - I guess registration is, but it only works between these dates:

Offer only applies to spend on this Saved Card between 6/12/14 and 21/12/14. It does not apply to spend on supplementary Cards or other Cards you might hold

Great to use in the lead up to Christmas.. it's 1 per retailer this year...

£5 statement credit redeemable once per Saved Card per participating merchant

Thanks OP - Heat Added

I got an e-mail after saving it to my card...saying you get a £5.00 credit each time you spend between 06-21 December whereas the t&c say it's only once per card.
