It’s £1006 for 1 person and £3018 total if you look. Therefore Amex travel is actually much cheaper.

As for the deal available on my gold card

Shows only on the gold card for me, used it in the past. Only thing is booking via the Amex travel website can sometimes be more expensive then booking direct, so look around before proceeding. Other then that a neat cashback.

I disagree, I paid for a LNER train ticket and saved 5% for the bit on the side to see me, saved 10% at Boux Avenue, saved £10 treating her to a slap up meal at Bella Italia and saved 5% at H Samuel on a necklace. I bought a coffee at Cafe Nero 10% and used a Turo car, £30 back to get to the Red Carnation hotel, £75 back. We parted company a few hours later and I felt guilty so bought some candle at Molton Brown 10% back and some flowers at John Lewis 5% back. I met up with the wife and we saved £1000 at Yoko Jewellers and we stayed at Maybourne and saved a further £75.

Bo##ox. Not on mine, Dad or Sis BA card or my Platinum Chargecard or associated gold cards.

When they did the £200 off £600 I booked a weekend to Rome for £620 so got £200 back on one card and booked some flights on another card. As said above Amex Travel not always cheapest and website is shocking but might save you a few £££s

Got this on my gold card
Showed up on my amex. Thanks! I agree prices are a bit high on amex travel, but last year I managed to get a flight for the same price as the airline if booked directly.

I've done a test on some Virgin return flights and from what I can see they are coming up as the same price as booking directly at Virgin e.g. Return flight to Miami from Heathrow 15th to 21st March £262.87, so after the £50 credit would be £212.87. Obviously not all prices will be great but there are definitely some deals to be had with the offer.

You are confusing the deal with the prices Amex charges, that too based on one search. The deal is hot for me as I can use this for hotels I would have booked anyway.
Heat!

Offer showing on gold preferred rewards card. I probably won't be using this before the end of Feb as my holidays have already been booked. If I hadn't, o would definitely be taking advantage!
Sure this works for some, but my flights I'm looking at are £99 x2, on Amex they're £123 ×2 so I only save £2 😁
Thanks, I've been waiting for this.
On my Platinum card.

On supplementary card too.

What’s the best Amex card to apply for? I do travel quite a bit. Seems like Amex only supports British airways? I never travel with that airline
Last time was like 200 on a 500 spend which actually countered the higher cost of amex travel, saving 50 will generally only just offset the higher price, disappointing from amex especially considering the cost increase of the plat.

I normally only book accommodation.
Try to work it as near as possible to £200, but prices are generally a little higher and obviously no use of discount code and / or cashback sites.
I reckon on a saving of £35'ish as opposed to say the full £50.
if I am on the introductory 5% first 3 months do I also get that as well as the £50?

Looks like paying that amount pays off to be honest.

I usually assume that Amex Travel will be more expensive but clearly a deal to be found! Thanks.
It's on Gold if you'd like to include it OP
As a man that spends thousands on travel on his AMEX with my company - obviously I don't get this one - I do however get 10% cash back on some random jewelers in a location I have never been.

I am sure that the marketing crew look at what I spend money on and do offers for the complete opposit!

Indeed - if you look around, there are deals to be had - especially with airline companies like for like booking can work out the same price and then you pocket the £50 on top from here

they do have a lot of tat in their statement credit offers
It says billed to your card by 28/2. Does this mean you have to stay at a hotel before this date or is valid as long as it’s paid for?
