American Sweet - Tesco's Lucky Charms, Pop Tarts LOADS MORE

56
Found 30th May 2013
I was in Tesco's today and walked past an aisle full of American sweets. I didn't even know they sold them. I've seen them American shops about but they're always so expensive. These weren't amazingly cheap but a lot cheaper than i've seen in sweet shops around the country.

I think Asda have a majority of these too, but i'm not near and Asda and my Tesco's is a relatively small one so if you live near a massive one i'm sure they will have loads more

Here's a limk to the picture I took so you can see it full screen:

I keep looking in poundland for these but never find them, only runts, and they're disgusting!

I won't buy American food anymore. It's all GMO. Even fresh greens are GMO. Google Monsanto evil. Think twice about what you eat!

None of my nearby Tesco's sell American items. My local Asda stocks a few things, but is nowhere near as well stocked as your Tesco clearly is. On the GMO issue, I dont mind too much, so long as they aren't putting our countryside at risk. I'd rather GM and other artificial stuff we don't get here to be in it too, otherwise it'd taste worse.

always see these deals when I'm hungry

Yeah they've had these for a while.

Relatively good prices.

A taste of home, yummy

Amazing.

£2.50 for a box of Nerds? Seems really expensive to me.

99p store had A & W root beer, gutted we have none near me.

I can vouch for this deal, the Tescos in Yardley, Birmingham have had american items for sale in their two world foods isles for a while now, and they are stocked regularly. What I will say is the A&W Root Beer is imported from Taiwan, not USA, so the can size is slightly smaller, but I can't say it tasted any different. The Lucky Charms are really cheap, I've struggled to find anywhere matching the price in Tescos, let alone beat it.

Tesco Extra in Parkhead has also had this section for a while. Beside the sweets there is also Savory things such as Shake and bake and Baconaise. The Synder's pretzel pieces are great!

3 other Extras close by don't have it though, so very hit and miss. Most of this is listed online as well so they may be able to deliver

I thought this said Lucky Charms for £1 the title is a bit misleading :-( would of bought a few boxes for £1

Tesco Extra in Dudley has a good range of this stuff.

Have seen these in Tesco in Chester too.

A1 Steak Sauce FTW.

I'm not entirely clear on why the thread title features "£1.00" in it.

There's only 2 things in your list that are that price, and neither are in the title.

They should stock grape jelly, lovely stuff.

I live in a small town with a small-ish Tesco (Saffron Walden) and they have also started stocking American food. Not a huge range to be fair, but the price is OK. I've ordered from CyberCandy before, and Tesco's current prices tend to be slightly lower. Lucky Charms, Reese's Puffs, various Pop Tarts flavours, Milk Duds, Butterfingers - all the usual suspects. The Pop Tarts are the imports, so better than the cardboard ones you tend to get over here. My local doesn't seem to have Payday bars unfortunately. Heat added - prices are better than most, and it's more convenient for us junk food junkies than waiting on a CyberCandy delivery....

Anyone know if if any of this is available in any northern ireland stores, heat added

Do any of the Stevenage or Hertfordshire stores sell them?

Google Monsanto evil

..for totally balanced unbiased information X)

Shows how popular these items are becoming... not particularly cheap though with places like American Goodies offering free delivery as well it's probably cheaper to get it online. I haven't seen such a variety in any of my local stores but heat for the find!

These are very expensive considering Poundland sell them for... wait for it... £1 but there are some good deals in there. My local Tesco has everything and even though it still isn't cheap it's nice to be able to get it at all

How is this a deal? Tesco have been doing this for months in Addlestone.

Not voting either way, it is cool, but not really a deal.

Available in quite a few stores and have been around in Tesco's for a long time. COLD.

Ystrad Mynach have these American goodies near the back of the store.

I bought the Reese's Puffs which are usually about £3 more in those American candy stores in the UK, they were really lush so didn't mind spending a fiver on them. Also got the Cookie Dough Bites, a bit weird tasting and VERY sweet, probably wouldn't buy them again. The kids bought Hershey's cookies n cream, Nerds and Snyders Cheddar Cheese Pretzel Pieces.

Disappointed not to find Reese's Crispy Crunchy and Reese's Fast Break though ... Maybe one day!

I don't get it. Why is this a good deal? Looks way overpriced to me. Not as overpriced as those other little shops but still!

they have these in Tesco Rickmansworth. £5 is so worth it for Lucky Charms, I'm on my 3rd box since I noticed they starting stocking them after a refurb!

Based on studies there is nothing wrong with GMO, there is a lot of ignorance over it. Monsanto using underhanded practises is usually correct though.

The whole point of the site is to let people know about things which are cheaper than you usual pay in the UK so it is irrelevant whether people think the product is rubbish/too expensive or whatever.
I do agree we are being a bit ripped off by these American imports but these in Tesco are cheaper than elsewhere = a deal!

I shop at american soda... great service and good deals.

It is especially when you can get them in Poundland!

Seen in a Tesco t'other week. Looked through the ingredients of a lot of the products and wouldn't feed them to any child of mine. Voting 'Cold' (at any price).
