Aaah makes sense, thanks a lot!
You can’t, it sounds like you have a BA card not a MR card like gold. With gold you can use points towards Amex bill and when ordering Amazon you have the option of using points when paying on Amazon payment screen.
Not showing on my amex cards. Maybe it's because I order deliveroo often!
Sorry for the noob questions but how may one spend Avios points on an Amex bill or Amazon?
Potentially a stupid question. I have an everyday cachback Amex. Which card do I need to collect the points?
Different benefits! BA Amex is avios based and after depending £10k or £20 (depending on which version you have), you earn a compagnon voucher which a lot of people find useful. The points you earn on the gold card are membership reward points, which can be transferred to A LOT of other schemes like hotel, airline or even nectar! At 1:1, 1:2 or three times face value. Hope that helps
Showing on me nectar
I spotted that too. Why don't they do alerts of new deals? All they keep emailing me is that I can add on another card member... :/
Ironically, not showing on my "preferred rewards gold card".
None for me, but did find a £20 off £100 spend at Hawksmoor, which I'm pretty happy about and wouldn't otherwise have seen...heat.
I have multiple hotel offers - Hilton, Thistle, NH and Amba.
It was UK last time
All US that's no good!
Simply spend $700 at the bar, tell me your dates and I could help with that! Seriously I haven’t used booking but I think you pay at the hotel and they get their cut. Therefore you should get the credit but check the hotel is on the list.
work or personal?
has anyone actually tried buying a gift card through this system? I know it says they aren't included, but I dont see how it could be identified in their system.
I've only used this once so far but plan to do so again next week. The same deal (and wording) was on Esso fuel last month which I used 5 times and got 5x£5 credits.
Thanks OP. Used it earlier today and, even though my BP is more expensive than my Tesco, will be up by £3.50. I know it states can be used every time, but can anyone who has used it more than once confirm this is the case as that language, to me, is a little bit vague.
AS soon as I pay with my AMEX I get an email about it .. yes!
Can you please confirm that after making a purchase totalling £50 or above at a M&S at a BP station ,you received the £5 Amex credits? Thank you.
Thank you. Was just about to book!
Depends on your spend.. my card renews in January or February and I’m at £370 cashback so far this year and got £430 last year. We put all our spending on it that we can, down to 50p for a pint of milk from Waitrose, then pay off in full each month.
Yes that’s true.
It can be converted to hard cash in costco if you like - you don't need to spend it there. You just need to visit customer services to cash it in.
I mean for spending in general, then voucher is used at Costco
Not really, if you're aready a costco member. After 3 months that card doesn't give 2% on travel or 3% on restaurants/pubs. After 3 months, this card is at least as good as the platinum card, and it also has no annual fee
not on our preferred rewards gold card (same as OP) we've not had any good offers for about a year. also yet to know what to spend hte points on... might be time to cancel!
I received an email about this offer on 31/05 so bought a petrol on 02/06 but the offer dissapeared. Contacted them buy they said the offer expired :(
I had the same thing last year and again called Amex and they gave me the £5 credit. The petrol station looked exactly like a standard Esso so bit annoying. Not on my Amex Platinum reward card today though
Cheers. I would probably need to find another Tesco with an Esso then!
Yes ,I just bought the gift cards without any fuel purchase. About 2-3 years ago the same thing happened to me as well, when I bought fuel and gift cards from a Tesco attached to an Esso, the receipt said Tesco and I didn’t receive the credits. But after calling Amex ,they added them to my account with no problems.
A screen reader could get you in trouble still. Always let the wife be in control, however in my household I wear the trousers it’s just she tells me which ones to put on (lol)
Luckily, HUKD isn't available in braille. :p
Let’s hope you survive if she reads HUKD!
Not on mine, that being said it'd be fairly useless to me.
Wife's wake? £300 just on celebratory drinks. Luckily, I have several Amex cards to foot the rest. Sadly, not Wetherspoons though. Gutted. At least the wife gets to survive a little longer.
BA has definitely got less offers than in the past. My gold has loads of offers although the BA just had the Apple and Harrods offers which I used.
Is there a difference between the Premium Plus and the basic card? I don't see this offer on my account. Sadly most of these deals seem to be unique to certain people, but thanks for posting anyway.
In my experience, the gold card gets the most offers, followed by BA Amex and then the free basic membership reward credit card. Sometimes the offers are the same, but sometimes different.
Thanks for posting but I'm struggling to see a deal here. I'd love to see more Amex offers as it's been dire on the BA Amex, I have 6!
You only receive the cashback after 1 Year... And in order to get it you must have spent £3000 on the card over the year.
For the first year, given your level of spend I’d defo get the Gold Card. Can do a lot with the membership reward miles, just don’t spend them on Amazon vouchers.
Thanks for the input. So is it better to go for their rewards vs the Cashback card
For the first year, get the Amex Gold Card, it's fee free. You'll get 22k miles once you spend £2k on it in the first 3 months if you are referred. Should get the card within 10 days once approved.
Could someone recommend which card would be best. I have a few things which I need to buy over the next few months which will mean me speeding arround 1500+. After that I would spend about 500/1000 a month on it. Also how long does it take for the card to arrive? Thanks
Have it on both main and sup. Platinum card. Probably targeted for our are here.
not on mine or my bh too; had this a while back just before X'mas I think, for both our accts and we had used that offer at that time , so I guess it's only for acct holders who didn't get it then or for people who did not use it when it was offered last time, just a hunch
Not on my account either. Shame!
Do you have a reference to back that statement up? Just interested as I couldn't find anything when I searched a while ago. I know that CostCo USA moved to Visa (one of the reasons I got myself a Barclaycard Travel Card...), but that doesn't mean Europe will; indeed Canada CostCo has a licence with MasterCard instead!
"Available on purchases made instore at Costco, St Rollox Business Park, 15 Cobden Rd, Springburn, Glasgow G21 1YX or Costco, Pentland Rd, Edinburgh EH20 9BY only."
On my BA Amex card - but not on the Platinum Cashback. Thanks for posting, made me check :)
Not on my account...I've some truly awful offers :(
Gift vouchers would be an obvious choice - but maybe not with House of Fraser!
On mine. Cheers.
That’s for Microsoft surface
On Amex gold membership rewards card, there's £100 off £500
Showing on my gold ..when combined with the student offer you can get the Xbox 1 S with Forza and PUBG for £150 :)
BA premium Amex
What card is your offer showing up on? Checked both my Platinum Personal & Gold Business and cannot see this offer
Super restrictive. Only on rates that you pay on checkout - so excludes the advanced booking, prepaid rates.
I didn't call up on this deal as I have it but I have done in the past.
What did u get?
Call up and have a moan, you’ll get something
Not showing on my gold card :(
I just bought a travelcard for my oyster at Heathrow, which cost over 35, with my Amex, and weirdly enough got an email I had used the offer. Wonder if I'll actually get the credit
This price is for a single journey off peak using a contactless form of payment such as bank or Oyster card.
Those are the full day peak cap you are seeing - but essentially what you need is Zone 6(as thats the zone for Heathrow airport) to Zone 1(central London stations) price - which in peak times would be £5.10 or otherwise £3.10 in off peak timings.
Because these 'of the March' deals are not that great We are capable of signing into our own accounts to see what deals we have - they often vary by account
Is it better to have this or the 1% cashback card? Is there a usual monetary value the avios equates to?
Get the premium one even though you have to pay annual fee, but is a lot easier to hit the target
A deal would be when this goes up to 9000 points... This is just the standard product.
5,000 bonus Avios welcome offer, if you spend £1,000 in your first three months of Card membership
This offer has been available for past few months so nothing new
