They're actually pretty good, not only do all the little Cafes around near where I live get included in it but also a few larger places that I was looking to go anyway.

This is a dupe. Mods?

So why no Starbucks??? Answer Cafe Nero - Second Rate....as for Deb's - what's the difference between Deb's + Primark and to some extent Next .... ANSWER SECOND RATE... I will agree about 5 years ago Deb's and co WERE Top End selling Top End products - Sadly that's Not the case any more ...most products are in my opinion Not upto much ...

This is a terrible post that provides no information.

The Amex Shop small is a great promotion, that is available across the country, and encourages to support our small businesses.

You code also offer stack this aswell with BOGOF in restaurants etc and if you have 2 cards (1 account) you can have a meal for 2 for about £10

If you know how to use this, it could really be a great offer. As for whether Amex is worth it, it depends on the card and how you use your reward.

Whats the yearly fee for AMEX platinum card anybody?

£25 for the fee based card.

Awful airline when things go wrong. Lousy Customer Service so would not go near them, with a barge-pole. Even for £100 off. Much prefer Qatar, Etihad and even BA.

If they are listed on the Amex shop small website - and even if they don't accept Amex - you just chat with Amex CS and they will give you a goodwill 5£ cashback - so sometimes cheeky enough it actually works in your offer

I got it. Was just checking on here to make sure it had been posted.

It was on my account and also triple points on my nectar at BP station

Apart from fuel what else can you buy?

Thanks Biioniic .I'd missed this one and will be stopping at our BP on the way to work on Monday. It gives a discount to locals so is the cheapest in the area anyway,

Not on either of my Amex cards (Platinum cashback and Costco) yet :-(
At least I have shop small on both.

joules99912 h, 46 m ago

At BP prices this will still work out more expensive than else where.

How much is it for unleaded?

I am not sure if it was Shell or BP fuel you get more miles than the supermarket fuel

Preferred Rewards Gold Card is OK but not worth the £140, however it's First Year Free, so worth getting it for a year. If you travel a lot, the Platinum one is worth the money, but at £450 a year it certainly isn't for everyone.

Cashback credit card is decent. Put all your day to day spend on it, pay it off in full every month and then at the end of the year get a nice chunk of Cashback. (Mine is nicely timed so it comes off my January statement, so essentially pays for a large chunk of Christmas).

Do people who own an Amex card feel they actually get any value from it …Do people who own an Amex card feel they actually get any value from it considering the £140 annual fee ? I'd like to hear people's opinions please

FWIW I have had a few Amex cards over the years - but pay annual fees only on my Plat Cashback card and thats a much more palatable 25 quid a year - which is more than made up during the shop small promotion alone. The other paid cards I have had I keep them for a year (as usually the membership is free on the first year) and then close them down.

Did that with the Gold Card - that had a membership cashback/bonus of roughly 125£ on a spend of 2k - this was just before Xmas so did all of Xmas shopping/gifts/London tube travel etc. on that to get over the line.

Then followed the same with the Amex Nectar Card last year when Nectar+Amex combined were giving 40k nectar points - which translates to 200 without the double up - closed it earlier this month after using it for a year.

The BA Amex card is free so that one I hold on to - and use it when there are promo offers, avios bonus etc which I load to my BA account for some free-ish flights to Europe.

Hope this helps.
