Yeah got this on my gold card. Last time they went on Halifax at 10%, maximum cashback was £15. No mention of this on Amex though so probably unlimited?
Not sure if Morrisons sell their own gift cards, if they do you could buy them and pay for the fuel. Last time they had this offer I bought over £3,000 worth of Amazon gift cards
A bit of pot luck, i only got 5%. Won't bother to push myself to spend £30 in one go
Amex Cashback plat cards
Thank you for the post. Only shows 5% on my card, but better than nothing (y)
When I click to view participating shops, it shows me a load of shops in New York. I don't live near London anyway.
This is what you'd call a postcode lottery. :o
Thanks OP. On my cards, but very limited range of shops.
Bicester village gift cards are included. Those can be used in all retailers and also the food outlets around the village. The gift cards will work in the ‘excluded’ retailers, so that’s how you get around that problem.
The link has changed but there’s stores excluded like Levi’s. https://merchantgeo.secure.force.com/selectsImage/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?retURL=/selectsImage/apex/selectsImage&file=00P0c00001LTMeZ
Heat - There’s not list of participating stores so I would assume all stores are participating in this offer.
The Hilton offer was cumulative so I suspect this one is too
Curious to see also if it needs to be in a single transaction.
Well done, what a well thought out and valuable reasoning behind it being cold. I for one will save £25 on the Avis booking I was making anyway, so thank you to the OP.
mmmmm so cold.
But you don't it is right there in the title.... Avis!
£25 isnt worth jack if you have to search high and low for somebody who will let you spend it.
Yes it is a deal website so how can a saving of £25 not be a deal. Can you please explain how I could save more than this by not using an Amex card? Also the BA Amex card has the same 0.3% interchange fee as a Visa or Mastercard credit card.
There's only one Angelo Galasso store in the UK. They don't hold "cheap" stuff like pocket squares in store. You have to spend way more than £300 to get this "deal". A t-shirt like this costs £340. Won't buy it for £4. I agree with spongebob1913. This brand is dying. Don't waste your money and time :p
To be fair their excursions on our DR trip were great, it was their Rep service that was pants, especially at the Airport the other end. The pilot on the plane told us we didn’t need landing cards, turns out we did so everyone panics and fills them in in the queue. Same on the way back, no paperwork provided which you need to leave DR so had to scramble around finding them whilst the Reps stood there and did nothing.
It’s very recent booked a few weeks ago and paid a large chunk off went to pay remainder and no longer accept it , don’t use TUI for land based holidays been on a few decent cruises with them but never do their excursions either it’s my daughters discount that attracts me lol (lol)
That sucks, we booked our TUI one about a year ago and they accepted it so must be a recent ish thing. If it comes to a large purchase, I tend to find another company that will take the Amex. TUI were rubbish for our last holiday to be honest, the reps in DR were not interested at all and the whole thing was badly organised.
I agree. I have gone into shops trying to use my Amex (especially during their small shop promotions) and it really becoming embarrassing when the retailer says they don’t accept Amex.
I think you will, I had a similar thing with River Island last year and both credits were applied.
I also took advantage of the 15% beauty offer this weekend and stacked it with the Amex offer. (highfive)
Yep. I did this today and got £130 of makeup for £108 with delivery. With £30 cashback, £78 plus £8 back on TopCashback. Happy days!
Got this email from Harvey nicks....could be used to maximise deal or is this using their own card?
Has anyone else received both credits?
Guess some people think it's better to pay full price than get 10% off!
Yeah but free coffee only applies once per week and sometimes the offer doesn’t run. This is a good deal for people that tend to buy coffee on the way of commute etc etc plus it applies on everything including cakes/pastries
You can get free with o2 priority and you can just pick up a payg sim. Also bring your own cup for double stamps. Much better deals than this
Got it on my Platinum cashback 8) but not BA Express.
Not sure why the cold votes?
Thanks very much for the post
Not showing up on my Amex Platinum - just the various resteraunts / Nero and wine places!
My statement credit was applied on the 25/04 after I bought the gift cards on 22/04 (y)
Did this last time and ended up with over £1000 worth of amazon gift cards. I got paid the cash back no problem. I Do not seem to have the offer this time on any of my cards though, which is a shame.
very helpful thanks
That's good to know, thank you!
I activated the offer on my app, went to Microsoft from topcashback, made my purchase and got an email from Amex saying I'd used the offer even before the order confirmation from Microsoft ... so you don't have to access Microsoft from a special link
If you're buying something that's £399 you can add Pac-Man 256 or other arcade games that cost just over £1. Puts the total to £400 so you get the cashback on AMEX. :) My Xbox One died yesterday, so perfect timing, thanks OP!
You're welcome, glad it was of use to you :)
Just use at the till point, it works. My local store staff were unaware as well but worked at the till.
My local said they don't take Amex and a couple of other staff there said the same ! I am going to make a formal complaint.
Make sure to load it onto your secondary card first. Although its a joint account my Mrs has a separate login and password..
Didn't realise that could be done but that's good!
Already used it once on my primary card but it's also the Mrs's secondary card.
Brilliant deal, was available on my Amex so thanks!
Could you please screemshot for us?
I had the offer on mine after receiving the email (platinum cashback credit card), but unlike previous times it says only one £5 statement credit per UK Card
Mine does :)
We used this offer today, but no confirmation email from Amex yet . Anybody got theirs yet?
Not on mine . Usually available in December for me
Just use a VM obviously (y) :p
How well does Visual Studio community edition, Sql server management studio, office, photoshop and my steam library work on a pixelbook? I prefer windows. Not perfect but I haven't come across an OS that does everything better.
Because that would involve giving Microsoft a grand :| You're better off with a Google Pixelbook for 2/3 of the price of a Surface Pro. And a bonus you wouldn't have to put up with Windows! (y)
Not on my personal amex plat
You’d be even more crazy to buy one of those. I’ve owned 2 and *constant* issues with both.
Love radisson hotels.
Yup - now I need to cancel the order!
Shame as that would’ve been some saving!
Just tried it, season ticket purchases don't appear as "Virgin Trains" on the Amex statement, instead they appear as "Train Season Ticket"
What’s the worst that could happen?
I wonder if I could use this to buy a season ticket?
Cachet, you mean. In order to get HSBC Premier, you have to have: savings or investments of at least £50,000 with HSBC in the UK; oran individual annual income of at least £75,000 and one of the following products with HSBC in the UK: a mortgage, investment, life insurance or protection product.
Is the points earning rate a third or half of what Amex is? Does the HSBC Premier Mastercard add a 3% foreign exchange fee? What sort of offers do you get with HSBC Premier?
Got an HSBC Premier card that does all that for free and is accepted literally everywhere. Amex is the least accepted of the big three, precisely because they rip merchants off. Unfortunately Amex still trade on the 80's notion that certain credit card's have "cache" attached to them.
Better reward programs than anywhere else, and accepted by a lot of places. One should never have JUST an Amex, but generally speaking, an Amex is a better first choice of card to use. Also - really bad idea to use most or all of the UK ones in the US because of the exchange fee. Get an Aqua or Tandem card for that. Oh, one more massive benefit of having an Amex: Should you ever move abroad, you can do a Global Transfer to the new country, meaning you can get a credit card when it mightn't've been possible for a while.
Amex....rip off merchant fee's so not accepted by thousands of SME's near you. Unless you go to the states frequently, better to stick to Visa and Mastercard.
Does anyone know if this credit triggers if you spend £40 through the Virgin Trains website but on non Virgin Trains travel? Not sure how Amex would know if it was a Virgin Train booking or a booking through Virgin Trains for another operator?
On mine.. I also have spend £100 at Sunglasses Hut get £20 back. spend £300 at Ermenegildo Zegna get £75 back spend £300 at Ernest Jones get 5% back spend £75 at Ted Baker get 15% back spend £150 at Avis get £20 back spend £60 at Bellanger Brasserie get £20 back spend £250 at Karl Lagerfeld get £50 back spend £300 at Claridges or teh Connaught get £75 back spend £100 at Eurowings get £20 back spend £75 at Firmdale Hotels get £25 bacl 25% back on all spends at Kathmandu Spend £35 at Wheely get £25 back spend £125 at Europcar get £20 back spend £125 at Hawes & Curtis get 20% back 20% off at Funk Pigeon spend £250 at Red Carnation Hotels get £50 bacl spend £100 at David Clulow get £20 back spend £500 at Marriot Hotels get £100 back spend £500 at Cheval Residences get £100 back spend £200 at Mews of Mayfair get £50 back spend £250 at Hilton Hotels get £75 back amongst others..
Not on my card. Got too many hotel, restaurant and designer clothes offers, none of which I will use.
Not on my amex neither
Cheers OP it’s on my gold card
This deal needs serious heat..... Why? £20 back with amex but if you use code from retailer as well you get £20 off purchase as well... MAY20 is code...
on my card too only thing is that their rayban selection is so poor can't even get the frames I want with polarised lenses when they're still available on the rayban site
Thanks OP, it's on my BA card
