None of these retailers are small and its not part of that promo - please don't put misleading comments. These are targeted offers from Amex.

I think Caffe Nero is a £7 minimum spend

Please get your facts right - they are as demonstrated second tier retailers - no Starbucks...as mentioned!
Sorry but please THINK before making your responses - Thank You!

Debenhams and Cafe Nero are 2nd tier retailers ! You have got to be kidding me. That said my point really was this isn't a shop small promotion offer - shop small applies to the corner/small shops not the chain shops.

At the end of the day it's Amex and cold for a reason.
I have an amex card and I definitely won't be paying a fee to use it next year.

I think, as matwalaboy has said, you are getting your offers slightly confused. The Shop Small promotion is specifically to encourage Amex card holders to use small retailers. The shop small promotion is for £5 credit on a £10 spend on all shop small participating retailers.

The offers indicated on the offer posted by djpkinthemix are different, targetted offers - not part of the shop small promotion

Get the Platinum everyday cashback card then. There is no fee and it is still eligible for many offers.
Not all AMEX cards require an annual fee payment

Well Said that's what I have and i still say the retailers used drbenhsmd etc are second tier

This is a terrible post that provides no information.

The Amex Shop small is a great promotion, that is available across the country, and encourages to support our small businesses.

You code also offer stack this aswell with BOGOF in restaurants etc and if you have 2 cards (1 account) you can have a meal for 2 for about £10

If you know how to use this, it could really be a great offer. As for whether Amex is worth it, it depends on the card and how you use your reward.

So why no Starbucks??? Answer Cafe Nero - Second Rate....as for Deb's - what's the difference between Deb's + Primark and to some extent Next .... ANSWER SECOND RATE... I will agree about 5 years ago Deb's and co WERE Top End selling Top End products - Sadly that's Not the case any more ...most products are in my opinion Not upto much ...

This is a dupe. Mods?

They're actually pretty good, not only do all the little Cafes around near where I live get included in it but also a few larger places that I was looking to go anyway.

Shop Small has been a wild goose chase for me this weekend. Really fed up. At least 50% of retailers I visited directly after viewing on the shop small page weren't accepting Amex - including one bloody dreadful coffee shop which meant we'd already chewed their dreadful cake in detention-style hush before finding out :((

Sorry op - I must say tho I have always had success with these targeted deals so am voting HOTfor you - have recently used £30 off £100 Harvey Nics spend (free postage and £5 odd TCB, AND Black Friday prices too!); and £5 off £10 Post Office Spend (bought one of the high street gift cards)x

Did you know if you chat with American Express and let them know of the shops that didn't accept the card and were listed on the shop small map - they would give you the £5 cashback as a goodwill gesture - I have done that a number of times without any issues.
