Been tempted by this due to the reviews and to the £3 code on the page - not sure how long it's already there, I just found about the code this morning.
Hoping it will improve the number of channels I get - never had great signal since the digital switch over.

Thanks for the heat. After reading the reviews (not just on this one) it looks like you have to find a proper angle/position to get the signal right. For this price I'm willing to try it.

I had something similar previously and encountered 2 problems. 1.5m cable is too short to reach my windowsill and for best results it does need direct line of sight of a transmitter. As a result, I got zero channels. Didn't help that the nearest transmitter to me is some 15km away

thanks op just ordered for my son for christmas

ZERO channels??? I need more than that, LOL.

Even when you get a signal, they dont last. I have had 3 1byone electronic antenna, and not one has lasted 18 months.

One of my Christmas projects is to build my own - I found various plans on t'interwebs.

Yup. Zero. Maybe I had a faulty aerial and maybe you will have more joy. Line of sight helps enormously. It doesn't take long to set up and if you have no joy, because it's via Amazon, should be easy enough to send back for a full refund

you need a proper aerial outside or in your loft- depending on how high your house is.

Thanks but not an option - lower ground flat and outdoor aerials not permitted. Hence why I have tried a number of these.

Lower ground floor is one of the worst. I would try to look for some really tiny one, stick it on the wall outside and paint it over with the same colour as the wall. I don't thing anyone will complaint about it.

I experimented with several indoor aerials at my last place and the best one was a cheapy flat one similar to this. I had to hang it up in the top of the window though to get a decent signal so had to get an extension aerial lead, the 1.5m one it came with was far too short.
Also different TV's gave very different results when scanning, some are much better at finding channels than others

Nice thought. One that I've had too. It's not permitted. 50 mile paper thin aerials work but they're an indoor eye sore and lose channels as soon as they're moved. For now, everything is streamed through a tv box, which the TV license permits me to do. Not ideal as not all channels are available through streaming

They don't check aerials oO If you can RECEIVE any national tv channels, it does not matter, what you watch, via Boxes/PC/Tablets/cable/Internet/ect.... Pay your TV licence or expect a knock on your door, as, it is alot easier to track YOU down oO

Yeah, being forced to pay for something you don't want isn't theft. It's extortion.

No 4K terrestrial broadcasts, or likely to be in the foreseeable future, only via Satellite or Fibre broadband, and I am not certain Satellite is viable.

Code not working?

Good price but a better solution is paying an extra 20 for a fire stick or android tv and use an internet tv app

Let's give it a decade. There is still properties without standard broadband available to them. Having the fibre the only option to get the TV channels would make lots of houses being "without a TV" and that my fried would be the end of the world in most of them. oO

Had three indoor aerials ranging from £10 to £25, all failed to find any channels. Would avoid personally, get TVplayer app instead if you have OK Internet.

I didn't say you should be able to watch without paying, I was warning people after the comment in post #18 you do need a licence for all streaming services and not just iPlayer.
What I object to is being forced to pay for something I would not choose to use given the choice.
I don't watch Sky sports or the Disney channels and so I dont pay for them and given a choice I would not watch the bbc programs and use my licence fee topay for my Netflix subscription.
