Amstel Premium Lager 20 300ml bottles £7/ £6 for 15 @ Asda

I know it's only 4.1% but at this price it's a steal, not tried it yet but will later

Removed brewed in the Netherlands, as I got that wrong ( read the box online & it said so ) some guys on here pointed it out. Sorry for giving wrong info to fellow bargain hunters

Guttediam that it's brewed here

Lovely stuff, picked 2 boxes up earlier. June date on it

Quality deal

decent deal £1.17 / litre

not my favourite beer but OK very cold

Cue the beer bores. 35p/bottle. Decent beer. Heat added.

Is it brewed in Holland ? The cans are brewed in Edinburgh

It's weekday Premium, at this price will certainly try it!

great deal. decent lager under 50p a bottle... bought 3...

Thanks, ordered 120 bottles, also got free delivery.

nice stuff, heat

If it is the stuff brewed in Holland it's nice, the stuff brewed in Scotland is not the same at all.

cold, look at the ingredients on the sticker. contains sugar. for those who aren't familiar with brewing, beer is made with water malt and hops. adding sugar to increase the ABV is a cheaper alternative to malt. A bit like pumping water into ham to bulk it out. much cheaper German pilsners are available from supermarkets that don't contain sugar thanks to German purity laws.

Sadly this is the Edinburgh stuff. (according to Asda site) Not a patch on the real stuff. But it is 35p a bottle!

It is not.
From the bottle: "Brewed in the UK under supervision of Amstel".

Nasty stuff

If above comments are true it's a sad state of affairs when we yearn for foreign made lager because our own home produced stuff tastes like pish. Even worse that the manufacturers actively cheapen the recipe for the UK market as they know we're a nation of bargain hunters who will drink any old crap if it's cheap enough!

Did someone say 35p a bottle? Right I'm off to Asda!!

Educational comment regarding sugar rather than malt. Thanks for your insight.

Good price. Heat added

Cheap as chips, good price for a BBQ (not quite the season yet) or when your mates are round for the football. You dont want to be handing the Westvleteren!

used to be great taste (10 years ago...)
good offer price-wise but nasty stuff with **** poor taste now IMHO which is a shame really

Thanx for info, thought it was weird when I saw sugar

Terrible lager at a cheap price. Decent deal if you just want to get tipsy and don't care what it tastes like.

Very good price,
But dont know how they get away
with calling it Premium! lol

just had my delivery, ordered 120 bottles,,,,got 20 , apparently that's all they had left.

Not bad price for party's etc.! But it is a poor brew to the real Amstel , which is a good beer.

thanks op

Cheers , ordered 120 (6 x 20) they only had 4 x 20, so gave me an additional 3x15 =125 bottles for 42 quid! Result!

Don't forget the most important ingredient, yeast, without that nothing will happen. Although as you are probably aware, sugar is produced in the mash tun when the grains are steeped and sparged.

Got 50 bottles for £19 what a bargain

Bad head tom lol
ENJOY :P

8 cases slotted today, one of the best beers offers ever.
Lots of £7 cases in stock in Wallasey but no where else on the Wirral.
Peach, cheaper than water, roll on the summer !

We got 3 boxes for a party , and it is a poor brew! I have to say even Carling is better.
It may be very cheap , but that Is it. I can not see this Amstel being about a long time , they have killed the name with this!
