We did this recently. You get 5 hrs in Amsterdam, just make sure you are one of the first off the boat so on the 1st bus. We did a boat trip around the canals, had lunch in a pub then wondered back through the canals (red light area on way back), some shopping and a quick stop in another bar and then back for the bus. The boat is OK, decent buffet restaurant. Bar prices OK, £4 for a pint. Room was small but as expected. You can park 5 mins walk from Newcastle port at a Premier Inn for about £8 via 'yourparkingspace' online.
    Good tip

    Not voting either way.

The two nights are obviously aboard which leaves little time in Amsterdam.
The travel is part of the experience, with Phoenix Nights style entertainment - great. Realistically you get about 6 hours in Amsterdam itself.

Be aware, the ferry terminal is an hour bus ride from Amsterdam city centre.
You'll spend 2 hours of your Amsterdam shopping trip on a bus, in addition to 32 hours at sea.
Leaving you with little more than 4 hours to see the sights of Amsterdam.

    Also, in the fine print.....

    Cancellation Policy:

No modification or cancellation allowed after booking confirmation. Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable to another destination once confirmed.
we where only 30 minutes both ways but we did 6 days so 5 in Amsterdam.

We went on this for my stag party and we were able to book an extra night in an Amsterdam hotel before returning on the ferry. I don’t know if you could do this with this offer.

I’m not sure why this was marked as expired, it looks like a community support team member marked the deal with an expiry date of 25/12/22 23:59.

Presently immigration workers are on strike & the RAF are checking passports (with very limited legal powers).

Does anyone know if customs staff are striking too?

    Asking for a dope fiend.
To be fair the ports and airports are working very well.

What we found a little weird, there are Dutch people doing the same thing for a day out in Newcastle (edited)
DFDS sells this Mini Cruise in Europe as well.

Did one of these years ago. Ended up getting hammered &
Had to ring the cruise company to tell them there’s no way we’ll make it back. They kindly boxed up our stuff & we picked it up from the ferry the next day (that we managed to get to on time) there was a charge but I can’t remember how much.

Whenever I see this cruise on here, I can just hear the tannoy announcement 'Dutch police are waiting to board, please stay in your cabins, the bar/restaurant facilities are unavailable, the bar is now a crime scene, I repeat - stay in your cabins'
Probably the most exciting part of 16 hours bobbing about in the North Sea.
