First two series are brilliant

The first three series of the Sky 1 comedy travelogue in which Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send Karl Pilkington, who doesn't like travelling, off around the globe to various destinations including New Zealand, China, Alaska, Africa, America and Japan. Hoping the trips will force Karl out of his comfort zone, broaden his mind and change his outlook on the world, the pair keep in touch with him by telephone from London, as he offers his unique insights on some of the world's most iconic sights, including amongst others, the Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil and Petra in Jordan.

Apparently this is funny.....liked the radio show on XFM but this is just boring.
Season 1 is great, season 2 is good, season 3 shouldn't have been aired! Think they realised that as it's only 3 episodes!

I think the problem with Season 3 is that Warwick Davis is so **** retentive and thinks so highly of his acting career that Karl Pilkington came across as the normal one.

Yeah, also I think on paper it was a funny idea, but it just did not work one bit.I think with Warwick everything was acted.

I took most of what Warwick said as a bit of a joke, he wasn't being entirely serious with everything. The trouble with those two is if you don't get their niche humour they come across as d*icks
the water jet in series 3 was the highlight for me,i still crack up watching it.

I was bought this on dvd by my Bro he loves it. Watched one episode a day and tried to like it. About once a show Karl says something ignorant that makes you laugh a bit but it's otherwise dull. The book of the series is better but I've given up on it now. I feel guilty about laughing at him. I feel sorry for him. Karl is incredibly gullible believing everything he reads and that people tell him. He's also misinformed or not informed about the world outside his town so he doesn't understand why things are different. Mostly it's just sad watching a grumpy man wander about. I hope it's an act otherwise Steve and Ricky are just exploiting someone who's a bit slow. I just don't get it, much like Karl.
