where??

£2.78 online

Thanks op, was looking for a good deal on this as we have nearly run out. Showing as £2 for me. Heat added

Weird - the plastic tub of Spreadable Lighter is showing for me at £2. The plastic tub of just the Spreadable is showing at £2.90. There looks like a 500g Anchor Butter (in a wrapper) for £2, but I've never seem them in the paper wrapper at 500g, usually only 250g. I guess I just haven't been looking hard enough. Thanks OP, good price.

Seems a little odd if its in a wrapper, won't fit in a butter dish! Good deal, a £1 is good price for decent branded butter

Must admit, I'm not a fan of 'new' Anchor and have seen it heavily reduced elsewhere.

When it was manufactured in New Zealand with milk from grass raised cows it was probably the best butter available, IMHO.

Now that it's made using milk from British cows fed on feed it doesn't taste anywhere nearly as good. In fact I'd go as far as to say most "value" butters taste as good.

'Value' butters such as? Keen for a cheaper alternative

Thanks OP..it was £2 in Hounslow, London store too. Heat added .

Well, Lidl do a half decent cheap butter for less than a quid (250g) which tastes better (IMHO) than new Anchor.

Read the comments here, especially the ones regarding taste: http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/fmcg/fresh/dairy/arla-moves-anchor-butter-production-to-the-uk/232185.article

The reason for the recent price drops is that people are stopping buying the stuff!
