This dramatised documentary series tells the story of the rise and fall of Ancient Rome through the six key turning points. Factually accurate and based on extensive historical research, it reveals how the greed, lust and ambition of men like Caesar, Nero and Constantine shaped the Roman Empire. It describes how Rome destroyed Carthage, was conquered by Caesar, how it suppressed the Jewish revolt, and converted to Christianity. CGI is mixed with compelling drama and spectacular live-action battles to tell the definitive television story of how the Empire was formed, how it achieved maximum power, and why it eventually failed.

Blimey. Why cold? Next cheapest £10.78????

This was a great series. Packed with excellent performances; direction; photography etc etc.

Here you go. Voted hot. For those of us who like all things ancient this really is an excellent series.

Showing on ]UKTV History all of this month. Check your satellite and tv listings for details.

It has been at 6.99 for the last 3-4+ months. It seems to be the standard price now. Although HMV never take it off their promotion.

Bit like Rome complete season 2. That has been 24.99 for months now.

That being said this is a great series and well worth it for £6.99. Unfortunately i over watched the whole series on uk history TV a year or so back.
