One of the deals of the day on play.com, £15 cheaper than the next cheapest supplier as far as I can see, not the cheapest bread maker around I know but gets good reviews for the price.

I've been after a decent bread machine (have never had one before), but the more I read reviews, the more it seems that Panasonic is the way to go.

I've tried several brands in the past, including morphy richards, russel hobbs, and kenwood and none of them could make a perfect loaf every time. So I just bit the bullet and spent a bit more on a panasonic - perfect every time. Buy cheap, buy twice, or thrice.

Reviews seem a bit mixed and seems the reason people are getting "bricks" out of it is primarily because the recipe asks for too much water.

But good price for what it is tbh.

Yes reviews said take leaflet with a pinch of salt! Excuse the pun!

I assume from the comments this is a Panasonic under a different name? Also can anyone recommend a decent recipe seeing as the one that comes with this is rubbish? Before I decide to buy this one

Standard white bread is easy:

put 1 and half teaspoons of yeast in the bottom of the bread tin, then fill with 550 grams of bread flour, next add 1 and half teaspoons of salt to one side of the flour and 2 teaspoons of sugar to the other - don't mix them, then add 25grams of butter and 320ml of slightly warm water. Set to 1hr 55 minutes.

Done - thats the basic recipe for the panasonic and it comes with dozens of recipes for dough for rolls and pizza bread, and fruit and nuts, wholemeals etc.

No this is nothing like a panasonic and is priced at a third of the price of an entry level panasonic.

Thanks for clearing that up]

Thanks to the OP for this. Excellent reviews on Amazon and a great price.

dont buy a bread machine buy a decent mixer with a bread hook and bake it yourself, far far better

Good reviews on Amazon and is nearly half the price on Play.com. So this deal seems hot for me !
