what about 1st gens

The update messes your phone up anyway so there's no point

Mine doesn't seem to think it is available yet

yeah major issues with this the 5.1 update release in March as they for got to put silent mode on the phone only 2 option vibrate or sound and other minor issues to do with contacts being fixed....

Don't understand why this has even been posted in Freebies ... It's just information

Well, there are some points.

As I understand it, clean installs are usually fine, but upgrades can cause issues. If they ever get round to releasing it for the 4G Moto G, I'm going to use it as an opportunity to do a clean install of my handset.

I really don't like the update. Choice of silent modes is lacking as described above, don't like the way browser windows are grouped with open apps, system 'hangs' more and music player constantly freezes. Not impressed.

Have you reset the device since the update as that normally is recommended to make things as smooth as possible (obviously backup your stuff first).
I have the update waiting on mine, not sure whether to upgrade or not, KitKat is nice and stable apart from the RAM issues.

browser windows can be restored to how it previously worked, it's an option in chrome under merge tabs and apps

Happy now?

I have Android 5.0.1 installed and there are 3 volume options. Press the volume button and select between All sounds, Priority (which let's you turn off all sounds except Alarms and calls / sms from Starred Contacts) and None which does what it says and can be set for a time limit of your choice

Happy? I think I'm in LOVE XX

I had almost 1Gb of free space before updating and then I was left with 2mb, what happened to the space? How can I get the loss space back? Where did it go?

Sorry new to Android and my first update

I learnt about cache partition and did a clean but no difference

You do get silent mode. just put it to none

What a load of rubbish, mute option is gone, either it's on loud or on Miley Cyrus' vibrating setting, when you unlock it doesn't default to asking you to unlock, feels a lot slower than KitKat.

Exactly is software update that's free anyway, always had been free.... Always will be.

I'm a Android fan, but voting this cold because it's not a deal and shouldn't be in freebies either. It's a Damn software update ffs!

wow! you are all soooooooo clever!

5.0.2

5.0.2 been running fine on my 1st Gen Moto G for weeks now. But this isn't a deal. Nice to read the comments though.

Was posted in Misc 2 days ago so not only is it not a freebie it's also spam!

I believe the 'Back-Up' process ship has well and truly sailed mannnnyyyyyyyy moons ago IF they've already done their 'Upgrade'? (which from where i'm standing, kinda well appears to be the case already?), so .....

Future back-up with what they've accumilated since that back-up however is a whole different 'animal' still ..... hahahahahaha. :-)

Funny you say that .. I always thought that most Phones did/done a 'System Reboot' after any/all System Software Updates/fresh Installations? (the 1 or 2 Phones i've done 'similar' with in the past have done that anyway ..... ) :-)
