Rewards

To thank you for your participation in the Nielsen Android Panel, we have created an exclusive reward system for our members.

How does it work?

You will start by receiving a welcome bonus of 500 Nielsen Points when you join. Then, while you remain an active member, you will receive monthly point allocations. All this just for using your phone as you would normally do. You can earn up to 10,000 Nielsen Points annually!

What are Nielsen Points?

Nielsen Points is the unique currency for members of the Nielsen Android Panel. They can be redeemed for a massive range of gifts on our dedicated rewards store, androidpoints.com, , where you can also check your point balance, update your details, or just browse for fun.

What can I redeem my points for?

The choice is huge! Here are some of the gifts you can redeem your points for:

Shopping vouchers (Amazon, John Lewis, Boots, Debenhams...)
Gift cards (GAP, Starbucks...)
Sports & Fitness
Experience vouchers
Food and drink

About a year ago I subscribed to the Nokia version which earned me a few £10 vouchers over the months. After switching to an Android phone and stopped using the Nokia I noticed the Nokia stopped uploading so went back on site to re download and noticed there was an Android section.

Heres the original link for the Nokia version:

I had been with them for a year and half now first with nokia and now changed to android since nov this year. They give you 250 points per week. a 1000 points will get you a £5 voucher for argos.
This is really a very good app for getting paid.

installed, sounds good.

Cheers

thanks

Nice one.

Signed up but it keeps trying to send me to the Nokia pages and my download is a .sis file?
Also re-routes me to the Russian page.
(Heat added though)

I'm still waiting for my conformation email. Everything installed but no conformation. Will see how it goes

Mate at work has used them fo ages. They gave him an free unlocked Nokia N8 6 weeks ago.

What do you actually have to do other then have the app installed? What does the app do?

It just monitors your phone usage which they use for market research.

Unregistered as it sent me the wrong app and now it won't let me rejoin Grrrr

Bah, they don't support the Galaxy Tab, which is my android device

no support for the san francisco either boooooooooo

I've got about 10 text messages so far that disappear from my message list if I try to read them - is this normal?

Dosent support samsung galaxy s ..... wil it work if i select galaxy portal?

Sounds interesting, but I think I'll give it a miss, don't like the idea of a company keeping track of every little thing I do on my phone and potentially everywhere I go so they can profit from it even if they share a small percentage with me. I've had a quick look at some of the data they've released to the press and it's extremely detailed meaning they must collect a lot of very detailed data from their users.

Still hot though.

Have it on my pc and it DEFINITELY slows it down - takes ages to log on some days as won't let you access anything until Neilsson is up and running - certainly wouldn't put it on my phone...

Not for me personally but an excellent freebie none the less, hot

Too bad Nexus one isn't supported. Hopefully they'll add it soon.

spyware for your phone that you willingly download? wow. have fun.

COLD.

i used to have this on my 5800 but now its not letting me sign up for the service on android (i swapped it for a xperia x10)

Can this work on the Orange San Fran?

I get this when I try to download the app

Exception
Download could not be completed due to an error. Please contact Nielsen Support.

Anybody now how I can download, or can send me the apk
Edited by: "moneysaver9988" 25th Dec 2010

Does it support the Elonex 1000et etouch tablet

Doesn't look like it supports FroYo (2.2) or Gingerbread (2.3 if you're lucky enough to have it yet)

I have (FroYo) 2.2 and it downloaded and installed with no problems on my Desire.

thank you

Can't download it either... get the same error on my Desire as moneysaver9988 mentioned..... Shame

Don't like it... reads the filenames, types etc from the content of your phone? Read messages and emails? And with all the bugs in it, I wouldn't feel confident in handing them my "anonymous data". Think I'll give it a miss this time.

I tried registering but then got a timeout message. I then tried registering again, and it said I was already registered, but I hadn't received an email or text, and kept getting redirected to a page for nokia

Dang, I got G1 and its not on the list....snif

Banned

doesnt work on san francisco, installs then try to run app and it doesnt load

Can anyone with this app comment on how many points you get each month and what this equates to in terms of rewards (ie how much is a £5 Amazon voucher)?

So why not make some money\points yourself? If you are security\privacy conscious then Android is the wrong product for... actually any wireless device is capable of doing that so best thing to do live in a cave!! lolStill hot though.

Google allow you to opt out of usage reports, just because a device is capable of doing something doesn't mean it does or should. This app is pretty much spyware, it's just the user is profiting instead of somebody else. I think I'll go back to my cave and give it a miss! :P

Lol
