Much like the Redmi Note 4 will probably be seen as a classic/ground breaking budget mobile in the years to come. Heat added.

Seconded so have I, paid eBuyer £118.49 11 December after seeing deal on here
These are great phones, the android one program will make sure they are updated
superb phones had one for 6 months, used it on holiday in the US no issues what so ever.. cheap as chips phone and does what it says on the tin.
Got this 4GB/64GB version for my wife over 6 months ago, She was dubious at first having been a Samsung Note user before, and having tried a Redmi Note 4. However she loves this phone. It's relatively compact, so easier for one-handed operation. Battery life is great, and she loves Android One. She uses it a *lot* as is constantly emailing for work. So glad I persuaded her to go for a good budget phone, given the number of phones she wrecked by dropping them, had one stolen etc. She dropped this phone on the street and a passer-by picked it up and let us collect it. There wasn't a scratch on it, and that was with a cheap case. We've got nothing but praise for this phone.
I got one of these for my son last September, he's had zero problems with it. Get the monthly security updates relatively quickly and everything about it is great, especially for the price. So much so that we bought another one in November as a spare phone, my daughter had a mi A1 too and that's also been an excellent phone.
Had this phone since October, no problems at all, may upgrade to Redmi note 8 soon, but I really like the wife's Redmi note 7 as well.

I thought Android one was just the program to guarantee updates? It's still 'pure' android?
