Great navigation app for your android mobile with offline maps + HUD (Head-up-Display) feature. Also comes with lifetime updates of app and maps. £29.99, 25% discount code takes it down to £22.49.

Great for holidays abroad, used it myself last year in Italy and it worked like a charm - cheaper than buying or renting a sat-nav. It doesn't require 3g/data connection so you won't come back from holiday to a massive bill from your mobile operator. I don't have HUD with my app so can't comment on it, but it looks like a great feature.

Code can be used on any other items in their store i.e. USA navigation.

Hope that code will work multiple times, it is valid until this Sunday 22nd March: NKX24321001

Seems expensive.

I would recommend MapFactor, free to download and all global maps are free and regularly updated:
play.google.com/sto…=en

Maybe the UI isn't quite as polished, but it works great. Maps can be downloaded and stored on SD card, so not data usage is required. Used it around Iceland last week and it worked flawlessly.

Or you u don't mind all the bells and whistles dl apps from maps.me which has offline maps (no navigation) or osmand if u need offline maps with navigation for free. Or even Nokia here.com which is like osmand.

Whats the difference between this & the free version?

Does this app also drive you to your destination?

Free version stops navigating after the free trial period.

Thats misleading then. I cant see where it states that. It should state trial version if thats the case.

I'm not sure what's misleading here? You can download free version to trial for some period of time. Link is to the Sygic store to buy the license.

The free version is misleading as it doesnt state its a trial version. It only states you have 7 days trial once you spent all the time downloading it. Poor reviews on Amazon store.

brrrrr... going cold, looks like it's only me who likes this app :]

I prefer TomTom for Android (though it took an eternity for them to update it for Lollipop). Never found the free GPS navigation apps really matched up to it.

Here Maps

A very good free map and navigation app with offline maps and traffic information of the world.

The lane guidance and offline is invaluable if you drive on the continent. When you're on the Brussels ring road, it makes a huge difference. Traffic update is good too. Recommended.

lane guidance, camera warning and even dangerous bend warnings all work very well

hot from me

I have been using Waze app and its free and does the job really well. Why should I pay for a navigation app

Sygic really is a good system, however in todays free navigation society asking to pay that much is criminal...if it were around the £10 mark i would happily pay the premium. IMO...

why is it criminal? what crime has the developer committed?

if you think his efforts are not worth a premium over free options that's fine !!!

EliTom

check the expired sygic offers and you will see this isn't particularly good

Agreed. can highly recommend 'here'.

Cold you could get Nokia Here for free

It works after a fashion but I have tried most of the main android contenders.
Sygic works and I like the black box feature especially. Have snapped god knows how many red ligt jumpers and idiot cyclists who think the highway code doesn't apply to them.
Navigation works fine but audio often can be misleading ie Take motorway to Southport when in actual fact I am going the opposite direction.
Copilot for android work better IMHO especialy if Active Traffic works BUT Google maps seems to e even better for avoiding traffic hotspots but I assume more data intensive, unless map prepared using wifi or internet prior to leaving. (Never used it properly)

Like others have mentioned you can get Here, Navmii etc for free and they work offline with pretty good maps and quick at rerouting. Add in CamSam+ for 99p for speed camera alerts and you've got a decent SatNav for not much money. In fact for this amount of money you could get a Nokia 435 on upgrade price at CPW which you can use as a SatNav also. Cold.
