Android TV player.

If you're after latest movies/tv shows and a whole load more, this piece of kit is brilliant!! All you need is an internet connection and a HDMI port on your tv.

I bought one myself a month ago(for a higher price of £54.99).

This is the lowest its been, and free next day delivery with Amazon Prime.

Click on buying choices and select the seller WinoneUK. Its fulfilled by Amazon so peace of mind

If you need any help with setup etc.(it is plug and play) feel free to comment.

These android boxes are ok for films but for anything else they're so unreliable. There is no wonder the price has less than halved in a year on many of these boxes. Don't waste your hard earned cash.
Best bit of kit I've bought. No more rip off tv subscriptions
this seems really good, a pi would cost you 30 and the remote 10 let alone a case and all the rest. heat from me.
Wonder whether to go for it. I run Kodi on Amazon Firestick but because it is wireless only, I get a lot of buffering, this can be used with Ethernet , so hopefully that would stop the buffering.
It s this a good price for this, and a decent spec box?
I have the Amazon Fire stick which is great. Is this any better?
If this is anything like the Odroid C1 setup you can build (using openelec) then it's a sweet deal, have some heat
crap for sports. I can't ever find a descent stream

Try phoenix on xbmc if you get the american one nbcsn its a good picture with English commentary. Took me a while to find it too . It buffers sometimes but is normally a minute behind .

You could try enabling the zero cache configuration in the maintenance tool. This fixed my own wifi buffering.
This or a Roku Streaming Stick for £39 inc 3 months entertainment pass @ Currys?

Yes it is - as mentioned, its the lowest I've found these to be.
Ethernet should hopefully do the trick(might be worth checking your internet 'ping' speed too)
I just put Kodi on my laptop, which is always in the living room, and bought a long HDMI cable for a couple of quid to stick into the telly.
Best bit of advice I can give for troubleshooting on these boxes or firesticks is to check out youtube videos. Husham/Joenobody,Dubt25 etc etc!!! These guys give great advice when it comes to KODI/XBMC.
Nexus TV is the best Kodi player hands down imo
i have one of these. The android apps are useless on them. Iplayer etc is not configured properly so a pain in the derriere to use.

Install Kodi, get vdubt25, Genesis, Phoenix, Robocop Ultimate, Sports Devil, Zeus TV, etc (use a community build at totalxbmc.tv to save compiling yourself) and then sit back and wonder why you ever paid Sky/Virgin etc a bean.

NBC Sports is also another worthy app, that guarantees you access to every football match in HD but you will need a VPN and a DirecTV log in. The latter requiring an American friend or a visit to the darker ends of the internet.

Most reliable method is to sign up to a paid add-on like offside streams, about £11/12 a month, but then that defeats the object of Kodi.

The only problem is the people and pets tripping over!

Can you reccommend a good community build for the things you mentioned?

It is a very long cable, goes round the back of sofa and straight into back of tv - the only things that would trip over it would be the mice.

uninstall Kodi then re install and download the add-on Sports Devil and the steams will work again. I had the same problem as you until my pro told me to do this.
try dutch sports streams or soething great for kodi get hd chaneel for sports games
get this one instead for £35 as it includes a wireless keyboard

I'd highly recommend picking up a dual OS wintel box from ebay. More expensive but you get both windows and android. Installl XBMC then get yourself an offside streams or ruya subscription and say goodbye to sky. You will just end up frustrated with these cheap android boxes.
You can use mobdro as a separate android application on these boxes also worldsportsstream, lots of very good links for sports, always several streams of multi country channels. Mobdro is much more user friendly.

Best and easiest thing to get is rasp 2. More and more people are using kodi for obvious reasons. Fire stick is very constrictive in terms of what kodi can do. For example you ideally want to use some sort of vpn with it to "hide". You can't with fire stick. Setting it up is a pain if your a relative noob. Rasp you just go to Osmc or whatever software you want to run. Pop in SD card and your of running. Pros of the stick are remote and prime. Android boxes are ok, generally good for kodi but anything else you kinda want to invest in a decent box (nvidia shield as an example). Personally I've setup 5 pi's around the house. All able to read from central server. Backed up perfect setup of my pi and copied on to rest. Nice little Eco system. I use Logitech harmony, or any recent smart tv remotes to control them. If I want to add repos just use your phone to type.

You can close the lid of the laptop and slide it under the TV unit or put it out of the way.

In my living room I have a laptop with a damaged screen it sits next to my Humax box, I use it as a media player for the TV with a wireless keyboard and change the bios to turn the laptop on via any key press on the keyboard. (Never have to touch the laptop)

Community builds are full of bloat. If you install the fusion repo and pick what you want to install it will run smoother on your device and not constantly be updating repo's.

I have that model, it is only 1gb RAM and it runs very slow a lot of the time
Does this or other similar Android TV box take a freeview input? Wanting to get the Kodi streaming stuff but also Tivo style recording to HDD capabilities in one package. Any ideas?
been tempted by one of these but heard varying reports, might just stick to moviebox on the ipad.

You can do that but not with these cheap android boxes ( I have one in bedroom).
Google Wetek play or Amiko A3 box, price will be £100 plus but they are satellite receivers/ android/ KODI, all in one box.
I use wetek play in the living room, it comes with a twin satellite turner, so can connect to Sky dish cable.
You can watch one channel and record a second channel but you need to connect an external HD to the box for recording.

Kodi will give you all the TV shows, Entertainment and sports.

However live sports streams are not always reliable on Kodi due to number of people streaming from same source.

For 99.9% reliable sports HD stream, you will need to buy IPTV sub roughly about £12 per month

Have one of these and it overheats regularly and restarts when navigating the menus of Lodi/Xbmc. If you can get onto the video quickly it plays without restarting but if you're busy using the add ons or reading reviews and things it restarts. Also get some horizontal lines on fast vids, almost like the gpu can't keep up all the time. May just be mine. It's a neat box though
Thanks. Just ordered one. Only 11 left but remember and add on £4.75 for delivery if you've not got prime.
Not a bad price for the S802. Seems to be a well supported box too.

I got a reply from that Facebook group, they suggested that the url might be typed in incorrectly, and they posted the correct url that should be typed in. Not sure if I'm allowed to post it on here, but you can see it in that group, I post under the name David Parker.
Also as suggested in a previous post visit seo-michael for tutorials.
