Has this got a tone on resistance for circuit testing? The picture hints it might have but I cannot see anything in the text.

Good find. There's an EEVblog thread on the AN6000 series of multimeters may be useful.

seems to be, look at the resistance/diode/capacitance setting

Excellent price for a TRMS multi-meter (hopefully TRMS on v&i). I'm always a bit concerned when they use the same sockets for mA as they do the high input impedance functions. Looks a bit too easy to short something out when you've got the dial set wrong. Hopefully the CatIII rating is real. Anyway I'll be taking this to bits for a quick inspection before I use it for real.

Ha, just noticed this bit in the description - 'ideal tools for lavatory radio fans'oO Presumably must be a bog standard device

Thanks OP.

Check the video on YouTube at about 6 mins in. It shows it has audible continuity. m.youtube.com/wat…jcc

Had this very thing drop on the mat this week... absolute bargain, bit plasticy but functions well enough.

Seems to be £10.76 on Ebay, numerous sellers and free shipping

Sorry wrong, no temperature measurement

The 8002 has temperature... comes with a thermocouple in the box.

you misunderstood, the Ebay listings have no temperature measurement

Stick the word Fluke on the top left and paint it yellow and you've got a Fluke (sort of)

I personally wouldn't use it on high voltage tests but should be ok for hobby use. I'd not believe any of the CAT ratings though.

Cheers op looking for a new meter came up as £11.03 but hey ho

Got mine but I have no back light will they help with a return or replace?

If you undo the screws that hold the back cover on and look inside there are two wires one red one black which connect the led to the main board,it could be that one of the wires is not connecting, maybe be an easy repair with a little re-soldering.
Hope this helps if BG don't have a better solution.
