One thing i don't get is, why do we need to switch on/off on those plugged …One thing i don't get is, why do we need to switch on/off on those plugged in USB devices? Can't seems to be able to find a proper use case for this apart from it being a 4 port usb hub.



Things that are better switched off when not in use like webcams and microphones. Hard drive storage that you don't want coming on automatically when the computer boots up. Or if you have multiple items with a high power draw which you only want to use one at a time.

Do the switches actually allow you to safely eject the device? If they do then that's great. If not, then yeah you're right, seems like a bit of a pointless gimmick

I have a USB DAC with a bright LED on it it still seems to draw power when the computer is switched off. This saves plugging and unplugging the DAC

Yeahh... maybe.... I had the same issue with bright lights but usually use a tape to cover it But true, sometimes the web cam is worth turning off the power...
