I would beg to differ.

I've gone through numerous other USB cables, both braided and 'standard'. I use them for charging mobiles, ecigs, tablets (both in car & home) and ps4 controllers.

The anker cables are significantly thicker than all other others (even the braided ones) and the prongs on the connectors don't flex and go flat the way cheaper brands do. I've only had one suffer damage, which was my own fault, and anker sent a new one free of charge. Their customer service is second to none.

I won't buy any usb cables other than anker now. Their quality speaks for itself. Buy cheap, buy twice!
I can vouch for Anker phone cables especially their powerline+ series...

Great video, it is strong, how come when a Chinese product is excellent, no one puts "Chinese" before the noun and when it is carp, they do?!
Anker gear is pretty good but £5 for a micro usb cord is a bit steep. Can anyone recommend a 6 foot micro usb that won't throttle a 2A usb charger? The last one I bought was garbage.
I've had 4 of these now (ordered 2 replacements thinking the first 2 were a bad batch). The one downside is that after a few months the prongs that hold the cable in the micro usb socket wear down to the point where it will barely hold the cable in the socket. Other than that I can't fault the cables.
I've found the value of the gold in these leads is around £30 so I've bought £10,000 worth of them and am planning to smelt them down into my own gold bar.
The PowerLine+ series is also strong enough to tow a car lol:

i have had this about 6 months. no complaints so far.
Only deals on the lighting one or just micro?
Had one of these cables. Never tangled, but ended up breaking anyway. Lasted about 6 months.
Tempted to buy but there are far too many reviews citing the same problems.

Not a skipping rope, only for usb use
They are good but with daily use I've found that the metal connection on the micro USB end comes loose and looks bent. It then doesn't maintain a good contact in some devices and then fails to charge. If you don't mind claiming for warranty replacement I'd recommend.

wrong
I find the micro connector fitting into the plastic weak and breaks easily
I've bought a few anker cables now, micro USB and apple various lengths, best cables I've ever used and high quality still going strong. I've bought other cables off Amazon and they don't last long.

I've got five micro usb cables. I like to keep three at home, 1 in the car, and 1 at work.
All five are working perfectly after several years and thousands of uses.
And all five combined cost less than this one.

I've no problem with people paying loads more for extra strong cables if they want to, so haven't voted cold - but so long as you don't try using your micro-usb cable for pulling yourself up a tree (personally, I've never tried, so can't tell you whether mine are capable (though I suspect they'd be fine)) a bog-standard one will do most folk just fine at a fraction of the price of this.
Best cables I have used as well. Both Apple and Android I bought
This seems a bit much for a USB cable. You could get a pack of assorted Anker cables for this price but I suppose if you have to have braided.

Also my link the product has a life time guarantee.I've had too many problems with the cheap cables I swore it had to have the MFi logo. Also a shame it looks like apple are changing the lightening cable for the iPhone "7" and doing away with the international standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Not my favourite apple decision but I didn't like the name 'iPod' when I first heard it.

You're in the wrong discussion, this deal is for a Micro usb cable, not an Apple type lightning cable you linked to.

These are 'branded'. Not sure if you can get any that would be significantly better quality for a similar price.

I purchased a set of these (£8 for a pack of 6 - various lengths) a few months back, seem to be decent quality. Not sure what you mean by 'throttle' but not had any problems charging various bits of tech:

I have had this cable a few months , and was aware from the reviews about possible fragility of the tip. Basically it's fine and it's a great cable . I don't think the construction is quite a strong as having a solid rubber joint near the tip. I think it's a fair price for a nice cable.

Thickness appears to be a major factor. The thin cables I've got only output 0.5 whilst the Blitzwolf ones Neostar mentioned output 1.2-1.8.

I'm no expert so that's about the best answer I can provide. Seem to be loads of electricians (or maybe electronic experts?) on HUKD so I'm sure someone will be able to provide a far better answer than what I've written.

I don't get what you mean. Anker isn't a Chinese company.

If you're talking about stuff that's Made in China - then it's all about the quality control the various brands around the world do since so much stuff is made in China nowadays. Some brands have better quality control than others.
I've got this. Great length, very well made and charges my phone pretty quickly. Haven't used it for data transfer.

Hmm - these appear to be aping Apple's style-over-substance cable strain relief, which doesn't taper like the tried and tested design, leading to it fracturing where the cable enters.
Nylon braided means let's pretend this means the cable is more durable and the consumer will believe us.
