Sorry, I've just logged in and seen that my previous post was closed because I linked the wrong item (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/anker-astro-e5-15000mah-portable-ultra-high-density-external-battery-charger-27-1654789), so here is the right one!

I've got one of these coming in the post and have just been sent a code for £2 off (which I think is for anyone) meaning that it will be £27.99 reduced from £29.99.

My understanding is that you charge this baby up, then when you are out and about and lose charge you just plug your device in (from the advert iPhone 5 (Lightning adapter not included), 4S, 4, iPad 4, 3, 2, Mini, iPods; Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, S2, Note 2; Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Note 8, Tab 2; HTC One, EVO, Thunderbolt, Incredible, Droid DNA; Motorola ATRIX, Droid; Google Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10; LG Optimus [3 mobile phone connectors]) and it will deliver several charges to your device.

Code is ANKERE45, let me know if it works!

If you want the 1500mAh (I'm not sure what the difference is?? More powerful, more charges??) then that is currently £37.99 and is here amazon.co.uk/dp/…QK4.

If indeed it's 1500mAH it will have 10 times less capacity to deliver, though I'm sure you meant 15000mAH.

Well the admin removed it anyway - can you not link to a 2nd item within an item?

These are great but the bigger the capacity the larger the size in your hand. I have the 5600 one and the 8600(approx size as I don't have them to hand). they are very useful when out and about. I use them for my phone and Nexus 7

Good to know that the code:ANKERE45 is valid for both the Anker astro 13000mAh and 15000mAh! Thanks OP!

Excellent product. Bought the 10000mah last year and it is used most days.

Brilliant on long bike rides to charge the phone so strava and gps can be used all day long. Nicely made and has 1 2a out socket and 1 1a. This means its charges FAST compared to your standard 1/2 ah charger. Has a torch as well.

the 10000mah cahrged at least 4 iphones and my sony before giving up so nice and powerful.

As it is standard usb out sockets you can charge just about anything that is charged by use od a usb lead.

Other thing if abroad or in a dodgy power area this can be charged to protect your delicate expensive toys.

Has anyone charged their nook hd with this?

Just wading through the FAQ's on the website for this, but can this be charged from USB too? I.e. I keep this by my work 'pooter and charge it from one of the USB's on 'pooter, unplug then take it on my travels?

I'd say the charge off a USB from a computer wouldn't be strong enough but mine is due today and I will check it for you.

Here's the manual if anyone wants it:

Instruction Manual

Appears to be as long as it's a "Charging USB Outlet" (?) Think it means if your computer can output 1.5A@5V you're OK.

Gonna get one; excellent reviews, and charging/discharging lights (Was looking at New Trent NT135T but can't get in this country)

Heat added cheers OP!

Edit: Can confirm the £2 discount worked, the battery is supplied by Anker Direct so you can go straight to them with any issues (although they seem helpful enough to everyone on the website anyway)

Hi mate, just to confirm that it is currently charging on my computer from a front USB port!

Well, it was added 4 days ago!

For everyone who is thinking if this, I've charged my iPhone 5 three times from pretty much 0 on this and it still has a full charge in the anker device.

It's very good!

Code still works for me. Ordered, thanks :-)

Thanks - ordered.

Strava is a GPS cycling app in case anyone didn't understand what it was from the non description in the post above

Can anyone please comment on the size of this. Is it the same size as say for instance Samsung galaxy s4, or bigger?

I wish I had bought it when it dropped to £20.99 8 days ago.

I have the Easy ACC brand battery similar to this and it charges off of a computer USB but VERY slowly....

Thanks been looking something like this. Originally had my heart set on a Mophie Powerstation, but read the reviews for the Anker so went for one.

Just to note, the code is only valid for the black one.

i've had mine now for about 5 months it's a great device, i actually charge mine from a solar panel and in return charge my nokia lumia off it

i read that this version cant charge a ps vita but the 10000 version can. very strange.

Great brand - I too bought a 10,000mah version of this last yeat, and it has been excellent. Charges pretty much anything and holds decent charge when not used. Certainly the 10,000mah charges Vita, don't know about this one - this is achieved as the 2 USB outputs are differently wired internally - Vita, and some other devices, requires a minor change to the internal connections of USB cable/port to charge, and one of the outputs on the Anker supports. I would be surprised if this model does not work the same, but cannot vouch for it either way.

Hot, ordered

I bought the 10,000Mah recently and I can say its awesome.
The design of it is much nicer and is about the size of a samsung galaxy s4, almost looks like a blank iphone 4.
The first few charges take forever, but use a stronger charger say 1.5amps and thats the fastest it will charge.
I've managed to fully charge up a 7,500mah battery (zerolemon s4) with a bit of juice still left.
It also charges an ipad 3.

P.S I got it via flubit and it cost £22ish - direct from Amazon. Had to reject a couple of times to get this price though.

It doesnt list for Nexus 4.... should it be ok??

ordered,thanks

cheers,
was going to purchase one, and then noticed there was a used one in very good condition for 22.49 with free delivery.
Went for that, so thats op

Yes, Anything that can be charged via USB should be fine. Mine charges my S3, galaxy tab, mi fi, bluetooth headsets, motorcycle cameras and other battery banks!

I have this and love it. Few points to note:

1) It's massive, and really heavy. From above it's as big as a larger smart phone but more than twice as thick and weighs as much as a dying sun.

2) It automatically cuts out when the charge being drawn drops. This means that it does not charge very low draw items unless it is also charging something like a smartphone. My Samsung Galaxy Note does not draw enough to keep the 2A socket on but does if I plug into the 1A socket. This also means that if you plug your phone in overnight you will not be at 100% in the morning as it will have switched off in the night when your phone was fully charged.

3) It has 4 blue LEDs to indicate how charged it is. The fourth, and final, LED lights up at 75% charge and then there is no further indication to tell you when it has finished charging. The LEDs never go off and I am not sure if an overcharge protection kicks in.

Nice question and answer from their site:

The battery cell inside the battery is 3.7V 13000mAh. Since there is … The battery cell inside the battery is 3.7V 13000mAh. Since there is voltage conversion and circuit heat from power loss(about 30%) when charging other devices, the practical capacity our battery can transfer to your device's battery is about 9100mAh. Since similar competing devices by other manufacturers also require a similar percentage of capacity to function, 13,000mAh is a fair comparison figure. Hope that helps to explain the situation.

Correct me if I'm wrong but camel doesn't include p&p from 3rd party sellers, which this graph is for, so potentially there was a ridiculous "+9.99 postage". Just sayin...

There is only one seller for this anker battery and that is Anker Direct. They are fulfilled by Amazon, free P&P.

Whoever said it is heavy is a wimp. It's the size of the palm of my hand and weighs about as much as an old Nokia 3310.

I used this out and about today for meetings, threw it in my bag, plugged my phone (and bluetooth headphones in) and they charged up to 100% on both.

Really is a quality item.

I'll add my recommendations to this, it's an absolute beast. I took it to the Download Festival in June and it kept my iPhone charged from Thursday-Monday, as well as recharging 2 of those e-cig vape things twice each, a full charge for a Lumia and a full charge for a Samsung Galaxy phone (not sure of the model). Love it!

12000 mah @ 18.97 delivered from Gadgets Cloud.
49 reviews ,got 4*.
Some people dont reliase 30% juice is lost in heat,
therefore about 8400mah is available after full charge.
