Not a great buy... the standard 20100 Anker battery is both better (charges two devices at a time) and cheaper (£29.99 on Amazon).

The only thing this has over the standard version is the Switch logo pressed into the case.

That would be the switch tax.

I can confirm this. I have the non-switch variety and it works perfectly, charges the switch whilst playing and able to charge another device without impacting the switch

I understand that it is actually the exact same battery with the exact same quick charge features but with a second USB port, so it’s just a better battery all round.

I’ve actually just checked on Amazon as well and the standard version also comes in a variety of colours (black, white, red and blue).

Does the standard one have power delivery? There are two versions of this power bank (3 if you include one having a switch logo), one with power delivery, one with out. Might make a difference to some buyers

I may be wrong but I recall there being a 'specific' reason why the switch one is designed for the switch. I may have read and ignored it because the reason is that there is a switch picture on it.

no the standard one does not have PD, the Anker PD ones are priced £40+

No power delivery on that one fella. Buy official only when it comes to switch portable charging.
Nice catch... my apologies everyone. I jumped the gun.
Great price. The equivalent Anker one is Anker PowerCore Essential 20000 PD Power Bank which has Power Delivery. A lot of the Anker ones don't have this
I really wouldn't recommend buying this from Very. I bought one from them exactly a year ago and it developed a fault. I sent it back for a replacement and they said they would refund me instead. It's been two months now and I'm still waiting for it. No one responds to emails, Live Chat say to file a complaint, file a complaint and that gets ignored. I wouldn't buy from them again. They do these 'special deal' just to get you to lure you to their site and hopefully take out Credit with them

You're better off with this one for £40...

£5 off at the moment too
201000mAh
wait what's pd
The difference between the two Anker powerbanks is Power Delivery.

The Amazon Anker PowerCore 20100 doesn't have Power Delivery so it can't power a Nintendo Switch or other devices that need it.

The Anker PowerCore 20100 Nintendo Switch Edition does have Power Delivery hence why it's more expensive than the standard version, plus you get a nice imprinted Nintendo logo
There was a great deep dive on the Switch and how it doesn’t conform to the USBC-PD spec and this is likely the cause of a lot of bricking. Sadly it appears with the demise of Google Plus it’s lost in time but there’s still Reddit threads and news articles discussing the conclusion.

“The Switch is not USB-C compliant, and overdraws some USB-PD power supplies by 300%” by Nathan K

You would expect that this being an officially licensed product will work fine.

It’s potentially a gamble using any other charger, I’m not willing to take that risk so definitely picking one of these up at this price.

I am always dealing with Anker directly, usually got a new one or refund within the week.
