It depends on your requirements, if you require a Qualcomm Quick Charge enabled charger then yes, if you simply require a 2.4 amp output without the additional electronics that could limit the output, say for use with a battery charger or a GPS navigation unit, then this might suit your needs better.

Each of them have advantages and disadvantages, that is why some have both technologies built into them, just like why some have both 1amp ports and 2.1amp ports becasue some equipment (i think it was apple) were temperamental if given a supply capable of more current than required.
