Lightning deal
Seems to be a 'lightning deal' on this every other week.
Cheers mate, been dithering for a week or so. We'll reviewed and free card. Hot.
2k resolution on a 2.4” LCD. These companies really do just ram unnecessary tech in to these devices because they know people will lap it up.

No the recording is 2560x1440. The screen will be 320x240. It's just for preview purpose really.
Have this. It's very good, very clear recording. Has a parking mode, which starts recording of the car gets hit. Having it placed in the centre of the windscreen, behind the rearview mirror, and out of the vision of the driver is a big deal.

Interested in getting one. If you place it at the top of the windscreen, how does it get power?

it records higher resolution video so when you get hit and run by someone the detail of recording will be high, allowing more detail to be viewed on a PC or TV or screenshot for insurance evidence such as distant number plates. The inbuilt screen is just there to set the menu and check it works, not view footage in high detail.

You have to run a power cable to it, usually you can tuck the cable between the windscreen and the roof material, go across, down the A pillar, through the glovebox to the place where the cigarette power socket is. You could have the cable dangle straight down in full view but that looks rather crap.

You can hard wire into the fusebox if you prefer.

here's an idea and what you might do.

A same price alternative is the Viofo A119 v2 that has optional GPS that clips onto base (get version2 for improved plug/sockets), this is a very discreet dashcam that sticks to windscreen. I just got one and have made a fairly well hidden installation as I hate the blingy dashcams, I want mine hidden away. Am pleased with the results.

The one you've mentioned doesn't have parking monitor/facility. Just a heads up if that's a 'must have' when comparing.
Other than that, nice little cam recommendation

Ah that's a good point thanks for mentioning it (it's not a feature I was too worried about when comparing the Anker and the Viofo) - I got the Viofo in the end as it comes with 'super capacitors' instead of lithium batteries which most dashcams have.. supposedly lithiums can swell up in very hot weather (unlikely in the UK I grant you!)

Haha you're not wrong there re: UK weather. Brrrrrr-illiant
How is this compared wiy YI dashcamer for 31£ from Amazon
Good bit of kit. Decided to get one when I bought a brand new car, didn't buy an SD card for about 3 weeks then 2 days after installing the SD card I was involved in a hit and run, this picked up his registration and his insurance paid out

Comes with an extra long cable and a tool to help install, really easy to run around the trim of the car
Any recommendations for a dual dash cam? Need to get one for my step dad. X
